Florida State University Marching Band Geeks Up Football Game with Game of Thrones Theme

In case you haven’t heard, the Emmys are tonight. I won’t be watching, but that doesn’t mean I can’t obsessively stalk the Internet (pretty average evening, really) in the hopes that I’ll see victories for Game of Thrones and Peter Dinklage announced. I don’t think it’ll happen, but I can hope. And so, because I’m already in an Emmys sort of mood, here’s a video from last night of the Florida State University marching band audiobombing (videobombing?) primetime football coverage with the Game of Thrones theme.

    Great idea, but wow is that not a good band. Poor pitch, and the trumpet players in particular sound like they’re trying to blow their guts out.

    To be fair, you’re listening to a live band play in a football stadium in a YouTube video that was taped off of the TV. It’s possible that the sound is an eensy-weensy bit off.

    Sounds a bit brass heavy but that’s sometimes the case with college marching bands. It probably would have been better live and if we could hear the whole thing.

    I really wish they would actually show halftime shows on TV. The band puts so much practice and hard work into them, and a lot of the time they are very entertaining; like this one probably was.
