Woman narrates story of how a friend ghosted her for a 30-year-old man

User @naash.fm has a hot take about “bitches” raised by their grandparents, and it is taking the internet by storm. On February 25, 2026, Young Nash took to her TikTok account to share a story about an unfavourable experience several years ago, when she was just 16 years old. She said her then-best friend, also 16, ditched her halfway through a movie to meet her 30-year-old boyfriend.
In her TikTok video, user @naash.fm states that the behaviour her best friend exhibited at 16 is common among people raised by their grandparents. She believes this is because grandparents are comparatively more relaxed than parents, which gives individuals raised by them multiple leeways, including sneaking boys in and out of their houses.
User @naash.fm’s story of a fallout with her best friend is pretty unusual
User @naash.fm’s video, in which she narrates the incident that led to cracks in her relationship with her best friend, has garnered the attention of many people, as evidenced by the more than 4000 views it has received, along with hundreds of comments, shares, and saves.
So what really happened? As it turns out, Young Nash and her best friend, both 16 at the time, had decided to go to TGI Fridays on a Friday night in the latter’s car. After having food, they then went to catch a movie and saw 50 Shades of Grey. However, before they could get halfway through the movie, Young Nash’s friend remarked that she would go to pick up her boyfriend and asked her to come along. However, Nash was reluctant to leave the theatre without completing the movie she had paid for.
Later in the conversation, when she learned that her friend was dating a 30-year-old man, she showed additional restraint, which caused her friend to leave her at the theatre. When the movie finished, she hoped that her friend would come back, but she didn’t until later, when she was with her man. He was seated in the passenger seat of her car, and she asked Young Nash to get in, but she refused. She was eventually left to take a lift from someone else.
People have a lot to say about user @naash.fm’s story
As mentioned before, user @naash.fm’s story on TikTok is gaining significant traction on TikTok, prompting comments from people on the platform. Many people are refuting Young Nash’s claims about individuals growing up under the guardianship of their grandparents. User @brimama24 writes, “No ma’am my grandparents were STRICT and I had so much respect for them.. but I respect this perspective cus everybody’s grandparents are different.” User @_sanchez101 writes, “I was raised my grandparents … my grandma was so strict .. she had me at the church several days a week.”
There are also people who are wishing well upon Young Nash. User @marysemcanada writes, “As a mom tho U did sooooo good to not go with them! I would have been proud of you.” User @nonir795 writes, “Wow I’m just amazed that you had so much good sense as a 16 years old.”
Grandparents are an essential part of a child’s upbringing
Based on the data released by the United States Department of Labour, grandparents are an important part of a child’s life and can play a key role in their upbringing.
The data released by the department highlights that in 2021, 2.33 million children (3.2% of all the children in the U.S.) were being raised by their grandmothers, and 1.3 million were being raised by their grandfathers. This means that, in total, 2.74 million (3.7%) of children in the United States were being raised by a grandparent, meaning the child was “living with at least one grandparent who was responsible for most of their basic needs.”
