Woman makes it official with her boyfriend, then finds a list of girls in his phone, only to learn he slept with her: ‘He says exclusive’

Relationships can be quite complicated these days, and one of the most common issues people face early on is commitment, which often goes hand in hand with honesty. TikTok user @dontsharecake recently shared her experience in a past relationship in which neither of these elements was present.
Just two days ago, TikToker @dontsharecake posted a video recounting her experience with an ex-boyfriend who tried to gaslight his way out of a tricky situation after being caught. The situation involved the man sleeping with other women while he was “exclusive” with TikTok user @dontsharecake, and when confronted, he claimed that the cheating wasn’t applicable because they were not “official.”
TikTok user @dontsharecake narrates story about an ex-boyfriend
Everyone has a wild ex story, and TikTok user @dontsharecake is no exception. She posted her story two days ago, recounting a time she dated someone who cheated on her, and when he was caught, he tried to justify his actions by manipulating her. She started her video strongly, noting that whenever she shares this story about her ex-boyfriend, people tend to have different opinions. Some believe he cheated, while others think differently. She clarifies that she believes he did cheat on her.
@dontsharecake begins her account by saying she should have been warned early on about what was coming. This is because, when her ex invited her to dinner very early on, he claimed he had forgotten his wallet when it was time to pay. Anyways, moving forward, she explains that after some months of hanging out with her ex, he asked her if she wanted to be “exclusive” with him. Following this, they were seeing each other “exclusively” for seven months, and @dontsharecake was already acting like a girlfriend without the official title, until she realized she had fallen in love with him. When she told him about her feelings, he quickly proposed that they become an official couple. The story then moves to when he cheated on her.
When @dontsharecake’s ex bought a new phone and left his old one around, she decided to look through it. She browsed his phone and found a list of girls in his Notes app. She quickly realized it was a list of girls he had slept with, as her name was at the number she had been told. To her horror, she saw that there were some names after hers. When she confronted him, he denied any wrongdoing, claiming the list was his friend’s. Not convinced, she memorized one of the girl’s names and reached out to ask if she had slept with her boyfriend. The girl confirmed her speculation and provided the dates they were together, which matched the time frame when @dontsharecake and her boyfriend were exclusively dating.
People have a lot of opinions about @dontsharecake’s relationship experience.
@dontsharecake’s video has garnered a lot of attention, with thousands of likes, shares, and comments. User @niahorton commented, “Cheating is defined by the boundaries set in the relationship – He said exclusive therefore it’s cheating.” User @jibbityjibbles0 remarked, “What is exclusive if not saying “we are not seeing other people.’”
Many commenters seemed confused by relationship terminology. User @carcinwoodland2 asked, “Becoming exclusive = boyfriend & girlfriend, right?” User @xxxcattxxx expressed confusion, asking, “I’m so confused… isn’t seeing each other “exclusively” the same thing as being in a relationship or being “boyfriend/girlfriend”???”
How common is cheating in relationships?
According to World Population Review, cheating in relationships is quite common. Surveys conducted in the United States show that about half of married individuals have cheated at least once during their marriage. Nearly three-quarters of men and over two-thirds of women admit they would sleep with someone else if they could do so without getting caught.
The report also lists countries with the highest rates of infidelity. Thailand ranks first, followed by Denmark, Germany, Italy, France, and Norway. Many other countries are also included, and in all cases, the figures are quite surprising.
