Woman vows to say yes to more dates. So she goes out with ‘Matt from Hinge.’ She’s stunned by what happens next

A woman’s documentation of her first few dates with a Hinge match warmed viewers’ hearts. As it turns out, deciding to put yourself out there romantically can sometimes lead to something good.
TikToker Hannah Szymanski (@hszymanski29) documented a series of dates with someone she met on Hinge, and how it all unfolded. Her video, which has gotten over 1.4 million views, follows her from the first date to where things stand now.
“This didn’t age how I thought it would,” she wrote in the video’s text overlay. “Watch until the end.”
How Did Her Hinge Dates Go?
She begins by explaining her goal. “So one of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to say yes to more dates,” she says. “So today is January 17th, and I am going on a first date with Matt from Hinge.”
Each update cuts to a new clip, where she’s ready to leave for another.
“Today is January 23rd, and our first date went so well that I’m going on a second date,” she says, adding that they planned to go to Dave & Buster’s.
By January 30, she says they were already on their third date.
“Today is January 30th, and it’s date number three with Matt from Hinge,” she says. “We agreed on coffee… we’re gonna go out and buy some canvases and then come back to my place and paint.”
She Keeps Saying Yes, And The Dates Keep Coming
Over the next few weeks, the dates continue.
“Today is February 5th, and it’s date number four with Matt from Hinge,” she says. “I’m going to his house, he’s cooking me dinner, and then I think we’re gonna go in the hot tub.”
Just a few days later, she checks in again.
“Today is February 9th. It’s date number five with Matt from Hinge,” she says, explaining they were heading to a Valentine’s-themed bar.
By February 13, they’re already celebrating together. “Today is February 13th, and I’m going on date number six with Matt from Hinge,” she says. “We’re actually celebrating Valentine’s Day today.”
At one point, she says she’s lost count.
“I don’t even know how many dates it’s been at this point. I’ve lost track,” she says. “But it’s February 20th. I’m going on another date with Matt from Hinge.”
Then, about a month after the first date, she shares an update.
“Well, I kind of forgot about this video, but I just wanted to come on and say today is March 14th,” she says, bringing her Hinge Date . “And this is my boyfriend, Matt from Hinge.”
Viewers Love ‘Love’
In the comments, viewers celebrated how things turned out.
“Mr and Mrs Matthew Fromhinge,” one person wrote.
“Currently married and have two kids with Chris from hinge,” another said.
Some joked about wanting updates.
“Alright, algorithm do your thing. Bring me back when she is married to Matt from hinge,” a third wrote.
Another commenter added, “Love this for you and Matt from Hinge! After 5 years, I’m getting married to Joi from Hinge next year.”
How Often Do Dating Apps Actually Work?
While plenty of people say dating has gotten harder and have strong opinions on how dating apps have impacted the dating scene, there are still some success stories.
According to a 2025 report by Forbes, experiences with dating apps are pretty split. About 53% of users say their experience has been very or somewhat positive, while 46% say it’s been very or somewhat negative.
At the same time, they’re clearly working for some people. The same report found that around 10% of partnered adults, meaning those who are married, living together, or in a committed relationship, met their current partner through a dating app.
