Uhhh, oops: A marketing package for Thor caused a disruption at a bus terminal in Ann Arbor, Michigan because someone thought it looked “suspicious.” The press kit, which is provided in a sleek-looking briefcase, was dumped in a nearby recycling dumpster, prompting someone apparently unfamiliar with the number one movie in the country as well as automaker Acura to call the police.
Acura has been promoting a new line of cars using Marvel‘s S.H.I.E.L.D, calling the brand “the official car of the organization.” You can customize your very own Acura/S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle here. The “recruitment kit” pictured above has been sent to several media outlets and given away at conventions, including the magazine Automobile, who were uninterested and threw the kit away.
Then, someone found a fancy briefcase, abandoned in a dumpster near mass transit, and figured this was not exactly normal. The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was called in to make sure this was, indeed, just a press kit for Thor. And thus, the vile briefcase was verily subdued!
