There Are a Lot of Thirst Tweets About Mayor Jerry From ‘Hoppers’

If there is one thing (almost) everyone on the internet can agree on, it’s thirsting after animated men, and Pixar’s Hoppers is no exception. Fanart and fanfiction keep the fandom wheels turning like the perpetual motion machine it is. Man, I love Al Gore’s internet. This is what it was made for.

However, beware of what you post online. Or don’t: I’m not judging you, because that would be hypocritical. But let it be known that Hoppers star Piper Curda sees your thirst tweets about Mayor Jerry (Jon Hamm), and she’s sending them to the film’s director, Daniel Chong.

Curda recently took to X to quote a piece of fanart before following up and saying that she’s definitely forwarding all of those thirst tweets to Chong. Threat? Perhaps. But also take it as encouragement.

Are we okay? Honestly? No. But millennials all had crushes on Disney’s Robin Hood and The Lion King II‘s Kovu. This is pretty normal, all things considered. And it helps that Jerry has a really good subplot in the film! He isn’t just a bad politician, there’s also growth for him. Growth is sexy. Growth for middle-aged men is even sexier. Yes, times are awful with politicians right now, but part of art like film is giving a world what you wish ours had.

One user said, “i’m sorry but how did you not see this coming. when jerry got introduced, i immediately knew id be seeing insane amount of thirst art.”

Agreed. We’re all just human at the end of the day. Online is a place for fun and expression of all kinds, and having that safe space to be yourselves is so important. Many of these artists are younger and in their formative years. Celebrate fandom joy with them–we always need more thirst traps.

Somebody also pointed out the most important internet rule of them all: “Sorry Piper, but the internet will find a way to make anything horny.” It’s Rule 34! We will! If it exists, don’t worry. It’s already there.

The resemblance is uncanny…

Also, I feel VINDICATED. The moment Jerry showed up on my screen all I could think of was Vincent Whittman, the human form of the demon Vox from Hazbin Hotel. The resemblance is uncanny. Thankfully, the personality isn’t. And somebody agrees with me, thanks to this side-by-side comparison post! So where’s my crossover AU (alternate universe)? They could be brothers.
