‘The White Lotus’ should be heading to Hollywood’s most captivating film festival for season 4

Every new season of The White Lotus takes us to a different thrilling location. Hawai’i, Italy, and Thailand have beautiful resorts for the rich and elite to vacation at and the rumor is that season 4 will take guests to the French Riviera.

Rumor is, according to Deadline, that the show will potentially focus around the famous Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. It is known for how close it is to a famous film festival: Cannes. Which got my wheels turning about a fourth season of the show that is infamous for killing characters off at the start of the show and forcing fans to fear for their new favorite characters.

So image, if you will, putting that kind of fear on the Cannes Film Festival. It’d be so much fun watching celebrities both deal with the nonsense that always comes with The White Lotus hotels and to see which of them ended up being the sacrificial lamb of the season. And can have a lot of fun with who is staying at the hotel.

With Cannes, like any other film festival, it isn’t just stars who are in town. The team behind an actor or filmmaker have to stay somewhere, journalists are in town, producers, you name it! So if the show wanted to have a little fun poking at Hollywood, it would be cool to set the show there during the festival. It would, as I hoped, take us away from sitting in the sun the entire time but it’d also be fun to watch them all deal with the infamous red stairs of the festival.

Even if the show is just set in the French Riviera, that’s still fun. It doesn’t have to be when the festival is happening but I do think that if they do choose to have season 4 set during the Cannes film festival, we could see a lot of poking fun at Hollywood and I’m kind of into the idea.
