When Interview With the Vampire season 2 came to an end back in 2024, fans were teased with the knowledge that The Vampire Lestat was coming. From there, the teasing just kept continuing to now, where we’re being teased with music once again.

The news began when the official account posted a video of static with the logo for The Vampire Lestat on it. The caption read “You might get lucky.” Quickly, fans jumped on the idea of news about the series, which is set to release later this year with Sam Reid’s Lestat as the main character this time around. Slowly, the roll out began.

A Spotify page, new images of Lestat on stage, and hope that we might get more music, fans at least are getting the song “Long Face” on streaming after months of waiting for it. The first introduction of The Vampire Lestat included a lyric video of the song and since, it hasn’t been added to Spotify until now.

“Since you’re soooo thirsty for it. Here’s Long Face, my beautiful unwell,” a Spotify account reads. And if you’re like me and you’ve been aggressively listening to “Long Face” whenever you can, you know how big of a deal this is.

The Vampire Lestat follows Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid) as a rockstar. He is being interviewed by Daniel Malloy (Eric Bogosian) and we’re getting his side of the story while Louis de Point du Lac’s (Jacob Anderson) lead us through the first two seasons. But what exactly is happening with the roll out for The Vampire Lestat? Let’s unpack everything that has dropped so far.

A rockstar season

The first tease we ever got for the series was Sam Reid sitting in a chair to do an interview with Daniel. He was his chaotic self, it featured him going through a lot of emotions, and it was tied to the release of “Long Face” on YouTube. Then, there was a dry spell that left many of us longing for more of Lestat.

Back at San Diego Comic Con, we got a trailer for the series. At New York Comic Con, fans saw it again (and all quoted the “I Bet” moment) but we got a bit more intel from the cast, including how they feel about the season. This year kicked off with everyone getting to see a “behind the scenes” look at Lestat back stage (hot) and that’s where we’re at. Well, there are some others.

We literally can never forget the fern. They also have had Bogosian out here promoting Daniel’s books on social media as part of the promotion. All of this has now led to the meat of it all: This Spotify account that promises more for fans of The Vampire Lestat.

We don’t know yet if we’ll have other songs. At least “Long Face” is set to be uploaded. But until we know more, Lestat is coming. Whether that is a threat or not is up to you.
