The tent where Charlie Kirk was shot was recreated at a Turning Point USA event, and people think it’s weird

At this moment, a lot of strange things are going on in the United States, particularly in the political sector. Yet, I never imagined I would see someone grieving for their late husband by recreating the site of his assassination, uh-huh, that definitely wasn’t on my bingo card, and I doubt it was on anyone else’s either. Well, this is not a joke; it has truly happened.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, during a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona, numerous attendees were thrilled to see the recreation of the booth where the organisation’s founder, the late Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Meanwhile, those who watched the event from home, thanks to social media and news outlets, were left feeling disgusted. While covering the event live, MS Now’s Brandy Zadrozny shared her main observations after attending. She highlighted three “key points” from the event, the first being:

“This is a recreation of the tent where Charlie Kirk lost his life at Utah Valley University in September, and people are taking selfies with it. You can see all around, people are saying like, ‘For Charlie,’ they’re wearing replicas of the shirt that Charlie Kirk was wearing when he was killed.”

She continued to elaborate on her observations, noting that the second significant occurrence at the event was the “passing of the torch” regarding Charlie Kirk’s life and legacy, which is now being carried on by his wife, Erika Kirk, who is now “in charge” of Turning Point USA, the political organization that has brought in about $100 million and has been credited by Donald Trump and JD Vance for “swinging some of the youth vote” to Donald Trump.

Brandy Zadrozny also pointed out a third aspect of the event, which was the undeniable tension among the MAGA supporters who have been divided into factions since Charlie Kirk’s passing, leading to a “civil war” type of situation at the event and outside of it, where people were unwilling to agree with one another. She elaborated on this situation, saying:

“The third thing that’s happening at this conference that you just cannot get away from is that it has been inundated by conspiracy theories. Somebody called it a MAGA civil war last night, and that is that there are these factions within MAGA that Charlie Kirk used to sort of bridge. And it is the far right. It has white nationalists in it, think Nick Fuentes, and then you have the far out. And these are people like Candace Owens and others, folks….So there is a huge rift right now happening at Turning Point and within the MAGA world and in the online MAGA world. And we’re seeing that play out a lot right here.”

That being said, as Brandy Zadrozny’s reporting of the TPUSA event began to gain momentum, many individuals took to social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), to express their thoughts on the matter. One person commented:
