‘Star Wars’ Hottest Dad Is Back in a New Trailer! And With His Glorious Green Son

The Mandalorian kick started Disney+ and brought fans their first Star Wars series on the platform. Now, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his green son are heading to the big screen. A new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu gives us a lot more of an idea of what to expect from the film.
There is a lot to talk about in the trailer and what I want to focus on is simple: Din Djarin’s face. Pedro Pascal’s performance as Din Djarin is, for the most part, a vocal performance. But fans of the show do know that we’ve seen Din’s face from time to time.
In season 1, it was just IG-11 who saw Din without his helmet and then in season 2, he was willing to take off his helmet to save his son. A lot of season 3 was about Din trying to earn his place with the Mandalorians again after taking his helmet off but he also learned a lot from Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) about the different kinds of Mandalorians that exist.
All of this leads to The Mandalorian & Grogu where Din’s helmet is off again. We don’t know why it happens or if Din is more comfortable with his helmet off but any excuse I have to look at Pedro Pascal’s face is a good one.
But the moment in the trailer did remind me how much I love Din Djarin. The character is complex and watching his growth throughout the show and now into the film is beautiful. Plus…I do love the way Din Djarin walks around.
We’re back with a Star Wars May release!
For some reason, when the sequel trilogy was released, they moved the Star Wars franchise to a December release slate. All three of those films had Christmas-esque release dates and the same can be said for the one off films. Rogue One was also a December release with only Solo: A Star Wars Story taking the May release slot.
Taking us back to the original release slate is fun! A New Hope was released on May 25 and set the trend for the franchise and it is going to feel wonderful having Star Wars back on Memorial Day weekend. But it is even better kicking off that trend with The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Din Djarin and his Force-sensitive son, Grogu, have been a staple since their introduction in 2019. And while their relationship has had ups and downs, the film is set to give us a new kind of dynamic between them. I cannot wait to see what Mandalorian/Jedi Grogu can do!
The Mandalorian has, in its own way, been the start of this newer era of the franchise and exploring a new slate of films in the franchise with the release of this movie just makes me incredibly happy. The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to release on May 22 and I can’t wait to see what my favorite green guy is up to!
