For science...you monster
We've been seeing some viral marketing for director Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming Pacific Rim but the trailer is finally here. And yes, there are some pretty cool alien monster things and giant robots but forget about all that. I just heard Ellen McLain, the voice of Portal's GLaDOS in here!!! Also, a little bit of Idris Elba time. But...GLaDOS!!! McLain isn't listed on the Pacific Rim IMDB page, but del Toro is a professed Valve fan, and you can't mistake that voice. Ok, enough, just watch it for yourself. (via igeektrooper) Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?Read More
And Fansplosions Abound
Ellen McLain, voice of the maniacal GLaDOS and well... pretty much everything else in the game Portal (the voice cast expanded considerably in Portal 2), is perfectly willing to have some fun at the behest of fans. The unfamiliar character? None other than Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria. Want to see the recording sans computer overlay, which is almost as ominous as the digitized voice? Venture on, test subject:Read More

The director of the Gifford Children's Choir of Racine, Washington is a self-described "VG addict," and it showed in one of the choir's recent performances: They sang "Still Alive," the Jonathan Coulton-penned closing theme to Portal.
The video quality isn't the best, but the performance is, well, a triumph. Also, in case you missed it: Ars Technica recently reported that Jonathan Coulton will be creating music for Portal 2, which is great news.Read More
