The hatch has been opened and history made as SpaceX's Dragon
became the first commercial spacecraft to dock and resupply the International Space Station
. During this historic mission, Dutch astronaut André Kuipers
took some spectacular images from last week's approach and berthing maneuvers several hundred miles above the surface of the Earth. See his amazing pictures, after the break.
This past weekend's Supermoon
put on a great show for those of us down here on good ol' planet Earth. But for astronauts aboard the International Space Station
, the setting Supermoon was a strange sight. This photo, taken by astronaut André Kuipers
shows the full moon setting on the opposite side of Earth from the ISS. The Earth's atmosphere distorts the image, giving it a weird wobble. We've said it before, but everything is cooler in space.
