Sacramento DoorDash driver goes to pick up pizza. Then the worker holds it hostage and starts asking her personal questions

A DoorDash driver had her order delayed by a worker at Bollywood Pizza. The reason why? He wanted to get her number.
TikToker @ay_lets_talk_about_it described a situation where a business in the Sacramento area deliberately withheld an order from her and prevented her from doing her job. That’s because the DoorDash merchant wanted her to give out her personal social media in return for her being able to finally complete her order.
The creator added that the employee said they would hang out at “four in the morning” in a video with 1.1 million views. His consistent push for her social media spanned the entire 30 minutes she sat and waited for the order. That led to the pizza she was picking up getting cold, something that she regretted in the moment.
What happened with this DoorDash driver?
When the DoorDasher arrived at Bollywood Pizza that night, she thought it would be a quick pickup. But, she realized as soon as she opened the door that there were three different dashers in front of her waiting for orders.
For that reason, she decided to let the customer know it would be a while, as their pizza was cooking. She took a stand with the other Dashers, waiting patiently for the meal so that she could deliver. But an employee at Bollywood Pizza almost immediately made it difficult for her to do so. Apparently, he told the customer on the phone that their order was ready despite making the Dasher wait. She had to reiterate that the order wasn’t done over the phone.
The employee tries to start a conversation
One of the employees at Bollywood Pizza offered her a drink because she was waiting for so long. She agreed to take one. As soon as she made her way toward her seat, he started asking questions.
At first, the questions were simple. The employee tried to make small talk. The TikToker, however, struggled to keep up with the conversation due to the language barrier. When she reiterated that she needed the order for the customer she was delivering for, the man let her know that it would be out soon. That’s when she found out that she’d be waiting even longer.
“ He’s like. ‘Who was the order for?’ I’m like, ‘dude, at this point I’ve already told you their name like three times.’ And he is like, ‘Oh yeah, you had two items, right? … I was like, ‘yeah, I had two items.’ And then he goes to the back and then comes back out and he’s like, yeah, one of the items got damaged.’”
The DoorDasher tries to focus on her job
The driver tried to figure out what that would mean for the customer. Would they need to quickly remake the order? Would they refund it for the customer, or would she need to provide a substitute? All of those questions went through her head. But, the man let her know that he would be making her a “classic pizza,” which the customer did not order, due to the difficulty. She could tell that the extra pizza was intended for her.
He took the opportunity while she was waiting for him to remake the damaged order to ask her “21 questions,” including whether she had a boyfriend. She ended up giving descriptive details to try and deter him, explaining that “ I was gonna get married and I got cheated on, on my wedding day, on my wedding week,” and implying she was not emotionally ready for another relationship. Despite this, he asked whether she would like Indian guys.
The entire time he chatted, the phones inside Bollywood Pizza rang over and over again. She noticed that the man was deliberately ignoring calls on the other line in favor of speaking with her. He ended up showing her the classic pizza while emphasizing that she shouldn’t give it to the customer. Then, he finally checked the phone.
The Bollywood Pizza employee finally gives her the pizza on one condition
After 30 minutes of waiting, she saw him take a call and realized that it was probably from the customer.
The man let the customer know that the pizza would be out, which would hopefully end her having to wait around inside the store. He grabbed the customer’s pizza and the pizza he made for the TikToker. At first, though, he only gave her the classic. Before handing over the veggie pizza the customer ordered, he asked whether she had Snapchat, Instagram, or some other messaging device. And he waited with it in his hands for just long enough that the creator felt like it was a condition to get the pizza for the customer.
She went ahead and gave him her Instagram username. But, that wasn’t good enough. Despite her literally tugging at the box, he wouldn’t let go unless she followed him back on the social media platform.
Eventually, she complied, which led the man to continuously tell her that they would “hang” at four in the morning. She meagerly said that he could hit her up as an act of soothing the situation and left with the pizza. Toward the end of her video, she noted that the pizza was probably cold by then.
The DoorDasher delivers the pizza
Immediately after leaving the store, she saw a message pop up on her phone from the man she had just encountered. By this point, she was nervous about the DoorDash order and just needed to deliver it, so she ignored it entirely.
She realized she was delivering the pizza to a man who was presumably on his lunch break at an office. For that reason, the man was extremely frustrated by how long the pizza took to deliver, especially considering the additional 30 minutes that the store seemingly deliberately added.
When she hand-delivered the order to the customer, they emphasized that they would never be ordering from Bollywood Pizza again. That’s because the employee at Bollywood Pizza told them multiple lies about the order, including that they had “never received” the order in the first place over the phone.
The TikToker did notice a message from the man, but she ignored it. She ended up posting one of her old co-workers for his birthday, which had a description that called him her “work husband.” That seemingly deterred the man, who she figured may have misinterpreted it as her husband.
Either way, the Bollywood Pizza employee ended up unfollowing her after some time. She did end up eating the pizza and enjoying it, but she didn’t seem to enjoy any of the experience of getting it.
Commenters weigh in
Commenters pointed out that he could have put something in her pizza, which was a terrifying thought for some.
Others recommended she call Dasher support and report the situation. But, it’s unclear whether or not Ay_lets_talk_about_it sought to report the man. Rather, her post seemed like a necessary vent to discuss the situation in its entirety.
