The ending of this 2010 Robert Pattinson film is still shocking audiences

If you ask people, they can probably tell you the exact moment they figured out some thrilling plot points. Fight Club‘s twist, their favorite murder mystery, and beyond. If you ask fans of Robert Pattinson, they can do the same for the twist in the movie Remember Me.
The 2010 film stars Robert Pattinson as Tyler, a young man living in New York. He meets Ally (Emilie de Ravin) and for 90 percent of the movie, it is a romance film about these two trying to figure it out. They’re not perfect, their families are a mess, and it is a struggle. But they’re trying.
It feels like your typical romance/drama film. Until suddenly it is about September 11th. Spoiler warning for a 15 year old movie but yes, the twist of Remember Me is that everything is leading to Tyler getting killed in 9/11. There were clues if you picked up on them but for the most part, we all watched this entire movie not knowing where it was going and then BOOM: Terrorism.
Since it is such a jarring moment in film history, it is one people remember. Aptly titled movie, I guess. But it has been circulating again thanks to Robert Pattinson’s new A24 movie The Drama. Pattinson stars opposite Zendaya in the film about a couple getting married and there are rumors of a “twist.” You know what happens when there’s a twist in a Robert Pattinson movie…
Okay fine it is either 9/11 or that fake out final battle that happened in Breaking Dawn – Part II but you get the idea. Personally, it’d be kind of wild if Zendaya’s character ended up being on the plane that crashed into the Hudson in the “Miracle on the Hudson.” Bonus points if Nathan Fielder plays Sully Sullenberger.
The twist that continues to shock us all

As someone who moved to New York and thought I would be on my fire escape a lot more than I actually am thanks to Remember Me, I have a long history with this movie. But the twist itself is something entirely special. Because it really does come out of nowhere.
You kind of know it wasn’t a movie sent in the “modern” time of 2010 but it isn’t made aggressively clear that it is 2001. So when Tyler and his father (Pierce Brosnan) are finally ready to work on their relationship, Tyler goes to his father’s office to wait for him. That morning, his dad decided to step up and be a good dad to Tyler’s sister so he’s running late.
Now, to be clear, earlier in this movie Tyler DID go to this office. It was not made clear where said office was. But in the final moments of the movie, we see Tyler standing in a window in the office, the camera pans out and it is made clear he’s in the Twin Towers. Right as a teacher writes the date on his sister’s classroom chalkboard.
So if The Drama has a twist like THAT? I will be talking about it for at least the next 15 years.
