Have you ever been craving Raising Cane’s all day, finally picked up your order from the drive-thru after a long shift, and opened up the food at home in mouth-watering anticipation—only to realize it got soggy over the course of the car ride?

A devastation like no other.

Fortunately, one woman is on the case—and she’s taken to TikTok to share a life hack that may just save us all (or at least us Cane’s lovers).

Soggy Raising Cane’s chicken? Never again

Abby (@theabbyrose) posted a video on Jan. 18—which has since gotten over 100,000 views—sharing this life hack with her TikTok followers. Perching her phone on her dashboard to show a piping-hot new box of Raising Cane’s takeout, Abby lets us in on the secret.

“I eat an unhealthy amount of Raising Cane’s,” Abby shares toward the start of her video. She quickly moves on to share her one grievance with the beloved chain.

“But they use these, like, crappy styrofoam containers that make your food soggy when you get home cause there’s no, like, ventilation,” she says.

As it turns out, no—it’s not just you! It seems we’ve all experienced this at one time or another. Thankfully, Abby swoops in with a solution.

“So you have to open the box before you leave,” she continues. “Like, you can keep it wrapped in the bag.”

Abby breaks down her process even further, giving us the perfect recipe for takeout success.

“We have to open the box, crack it before you leave the drive-thru,” Abby says. “And then when you get home, everything is like, still crispy. The fries, the bread, the chicken. It’s my life hack.”

Boom. It’s that easy. Soggy no more.

“So crack your Cane’s box open and thank me later,” Abby finishes.

Former Cane’s workers second her method

If Abby’s testimony leaves you somewhat in doubt, look no further than the comments on her video. Other viewers have independently arrived at this same hack, including one who identifies as a former Raising Cane’s employee.

“As a former worker who lived 30 minutes from my location can confirm this is what I always did,” said one commenter. “Bc I hated the condensation on the food.”

“Stop I literally do the same thingg,” commented another viewer.

“You can also put some napkins in there to absorb the moisture if you need to keep it closed!” one commenter offered, to which Abby responded, “Omg smarttt.”

“I actually really like soggy French fries,” confessed another.

Apparently, the material of the takeout container might be the real culprit behind this. One commenter from Colorado noted that she hasn’t experienced this, thanks to her state’s food service styrofoam ban.

“Luckily we don’t use styrofoam cuz it’s banned in Colorado, but when i’ve had Canes in other states, it makes the food so soggy,” she wrote.

Lucky Coloradans. It seems the rest of us will have to make do with Abby’s hack. Thankfully, it’s a good one. One commenter pretty much summed it up: “Gurl out here saving lives,” the commenter said. “Thank you for your service.”
