Promotion for ‘Scary Movie’ Hits Bravo, Introduces a Ghostface That You Can Make Do Anything

three men and ghostface

For the first time since 2013, the Scary Movie franchise is making its way back into theaters. This one, as promised by the Wayans brothers, is going to be unapologetic and “equally offensive.” So far it seems as if it’s living up to that promise based on the trailers we’ve seen, but we’ll find out for certain on June 6 when it hits theaters.

Since the first Scary Movie in 2000, it has evolved into a franchise that is able to cement itself right in the middle of pop culture. (In fact, I once auditioned for a play in high school using the iconic Scream monologue parody.) Continuing that tradition, this iconic comedy franchise is teaming up with Bravo’s Ciara Miller and the highly anticipated Summer House Reunion for a new crossover campaign inspired by one of reality television’s most buzzworthy moments of the year.

The latest season of Summer House has fueled nonstop online conversation, fan speculation, and social media discourse leading into its reunion event earlier this week. With Ciara Miller at the center of much of that conversation, the moment presented the perfect opportunity for Scary Movie to step directly into the cultural zeitgeist once again.

The new creative brings fan-favorite Scary Movie characters Brenda, Cindy, Shorty, and Shawn into the world of Summer House, alongside Miller, in a piece packed with references and moments reality TV fans will instantly recognize. The collaboration not only celebrates the current cultural conversation surrounding the reunion, but also introduces audiences to the signature humor and world of Scary Movie in an organic and entertaining way.

We also must talk about Subservient Ghostface–yes, that’s what it’s called

Additionally, Scary Movie has introduced a Ghostface that you can make do anything. What could possibly go wrong? The marketing for this film has continued to be some of the best of this year so far with its mix of nostalgia and how it leans in to modern fads.

Of course, the question many have asked since it arrived has been if it is AI or not. Thankfully, it isn’t. Rather, it uses a database of recorded videos which are then funneled into the user prompts. Even better: If you ask Ghostface about AI, he just dumps a bottle of water on the ground.

The last two installments of Scary Movie perhaps weren’t the strongest, based on many different contributing factors. With the time away, and the Wayans brothers’ promise to go back to their roots, here’s hoping that Scary Movie returns to the cultural iconography the first three films gave us.
