‘I don’t like jelly’: Tennessee teacher regularly buys peanut butter-only Uncrustables. Then she makes a Target run—and sees something shocking

A woman has a message for the Uncrustables company, J.M Smuckers: Do not mess with her peanut butter Uncrustables. And preferably, do not put jelly in all of them.

In a video posted by Adrian (@adrianbosi5), a substitute teacher from Tennessee issued an official complaint after she was unable to find any peanut butter Uncrustables in her local Target. Instead, the store only had Uncrustables with jelly.

“ I don’t know if you discontinued them. But if you did, I don’t know what we’re gonna do,” the teacher said.  Since posting, the video has received 192,000 views, with the Uncrustables company promising to send her a direct message to address the issue.

Why were there no Uncrustables at Target?

Traditionally, stores will carry slightly less inventory for spin-off products. For instance, most Targets are more likely to have regular Oreos than blond Oreos.

With “peanut butter only” Uncrustables being a spin-off product, they are inevitably going to be a bit rarer in stores. And if multiple people purchase boxes of peanut butter Uncrustables, they may end up selling out.

But Adrian’s partner was worried about a completely different issue: Are the peanut butter Uncrustables permanently discontinued? Will they appear in stores other than Target in the near future?

The simple answer is no, the Uncrustables are not discontinued. A variety of other stores currently have the peanut butter treats in stock, meaning they are still available for teacher lunches, parties, and just about anyone who wants to purchase them.

However, they’re not widely available at stores, despite being available online for stores like Kroger, and if buying the peanut butter honey version, Walmart.

Wait, do schools let substitutes bring peanut butter products into classrooms?

In the video, the Tennessee teacher mentioned that she brought the Uncrustables to work with her every day.

Many school districts across the United States outright ban peanut butter products from classroom settings, lunchrooms, and even faculty lounges. Instead, many schools opt for substitutes like sunflower butter.

However, there are also a number of schools that have no restrictions on peanut butter in certain settings. If Adrian’s partner is eating her Uncrustables in a non-restricted setting, there should not be any practical issue with the choice.

Commenters react harshly to her Uncrustables choice

Surprisingly, there was a lot of Uncrustables shame in the comment section of the teacher’s video. Despite the general humor of @adrianbosi5’s post, some commenters reacted extremely negatively to the TikTok, shaming her for enjoying the snack sandwiches.

One viewer said, “You’re a full grown adult. Make your own peanut butter sandwiches. I’d pull my kid from your class.”

Another commenter posted a photo of a jar of Jif peanut butter alongside some store-bought white bread. The Tennessee teacher simply replied, “Omg… I should’ve thought of this!”

But anyone who has had an Uncrustables experience knows it simply is not the same, even when cutting the crust off a sandwich made at home.

Others shamed the teacher for preferring her Uncrustables without jelly. “Who [the expletive] doesn’t like jelly,” one viewer asked. But according to the numerous replies users received, the answer is that many people like their sandwiches untouched by any semblance of jelly, jam, or fruit preserve.
