New York’s Greatest Defenders are Back in Action in New Set Photos From Daredevil: Born Again Season 3
After a triumphant second season, it’s no surprise that people are clamouring to know what’s in store for season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again.
The hit Disney+ series began filming last month for the much anticipated 2027 release, and new press shots have shown that Krysten Ritter, who is reprising her role as Jessica Jones, will be joined by some famililar faces.
The Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 star will appear alongside Mike Colter and Finn Jones, who are stepping back into the respective characters of Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The trio previously appeared together nearly a decade ago in the 2017 Netflix miniseries The Defenders, alongside Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox, so it’s a whole show reunion.
Beloved by MCU fans, The Defenders is somewhat underrated now, but was released to plenty of praise. The one season wonder was a crossover event, and took elements from each of the shows of its four main characters. The themes and aesthetics were blended well to create a visual feast that unwound along an addictive plot, which saw the superheroes combine to take on criminal organisation the Hand. Although it was a self-contained mini-series, at the time a follow-up was discussed, although in 2018 executive producer Jeff Loeb told Deadline that there were no plans for a continuation.
As this is the first time the quartet has been brought back since 2017, there is the chance that the new season of Daredevil: Born Again will have the Hand included in some way. However, given the evil organisation are set to play the part of bad guys in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (as per IGN), it seems likely that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will have someone, or something, new to worry about.
Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is set to be released in March 2027 on Disney+.
