Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey highlights ‘reckless’ behaviour of ICE agents that could have killed people

Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis is standing firm and making his stance about the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement clear. After almost a whole week of bashing the government agency, which has now been reduced to Trump’s hired goons, Frey is once again opening fire at ICE during a recent address, highlighting the extent to which these law enforcement officers under the current administration are disrupting the peace of his city and putting them in danger.
In a video that is currently going viral on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Mayor Jacob Frey can be seen highlighting an incident in which ICE agents exhibited “reckless” behaviour that could have potentially endangered the lives of several people, even killing them. The incident in question, as Frey highlights, is that of an ICE agent detaining an individual from a car that was in the middle of a “pretty significant” street and not putting the vehicle in park. As a result, he said that the car rolled down the street without a driver and anyone else available to control it and that it could “have hit anybody,” including members of his family who do not live too far off from where the incident occurred. Jacob Frey doubled down on his thoughts about ICE and further noted that he does not believe the agency stands for safety, saying that if they really did, then they wouldn’t do “stupid things” like this.
Earlier this week, Jacob Frey came into the spotlight for his comments regarding the recent incident in his city involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where an ICE agent brutally shot a civilian by the name of Renee Good. As seen in a video posted by the New York Post on January 8, 2026, Frey can be seen telling ICE to “Get the fu** out of Minneapolis” during a press conference. He also said:
We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite. People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. Long-term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorised. And now somebody is dead. That’s on you. And it’s also on you to leave. It’s on you to make sure that further damage, further loss of life and injury is not done.”
