Marvel Television Debuted The ‘Wonder Man’ Trailer & More Surprises At NYCC 2025
Here’s everything we learned about Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel Zombies, The Punisher, and more at the 2025 New York Comic-Con.
Phase Zero’s Brandon Davis moderated the panel, which featured special guests including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Sir Ben Kingsley, Paul Bettany, and the head of Marvel Television, Brad Winderbaum.
The introduction, a video narrated by Mayor Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) himself, vaaaaaaguely teased the return of Mike Colter as Luke Cage and/or Power Man. However, while Mike Colter was in the building this weekend doing signings and photo-ops, he did not appear and the panel did not officially announce what feels inevitable. There is a comic book arc where he runs for mayor against Fisk… just saying! Alas, it was only a tease. The Defenders aren’t all back yet.

An exclusive teaser gave fans in the convention center a first look at Season 2, coming Fall of 2026, and the introduction of Gwen Stacy, symbiotes, more of Peter’s besties Harry and Nico, some more Doc Ock goodness, and of course the return of Daredevil.
X-Men ‘97 is going there with Jean and Scott
Two of the show’s new executive producers, Eric and Julia Lewald, who created and worked on the original animated series, are finally going to get to do a storyline from back in the day that the folks at Marvel wouldn’t allow them to do on television. That storyline? Jean Grey’s pregnancy and wedding to Scott Summers. Whoa?! The exclusive Season 2 trailer also teased Apocalypse, time travel, and Polaris.
Season 2 will arrive on Disney+ in Summer 2026. Oh, and the show is returning for Season 3!
Daredevil: Born Again is assembling a team.
Yet another exclusive trailer showed Ritter’s triumphant return as Jessica Jones. Ritter joined Cox on stage. The trailer for Season 2 included a glimpse of Foggy (?), lots of Bullseye and Karen, Mayor Fisk in the boxing ring, and overall a gleefully violent vibe. Cox and Ritter talked about their sibling vibe and natural friendship and chemistry. (Cox calls her character “JJ,” how cute is that?) Unfortunately, there was no news about the new Punisher series or an appearance from Jon Bernthal. But we’re not greedy, promise! Seeing Jessica and Matt together again was gift enough.
The ‘Wonder Man’ trailer promises some meta comedy and the return of a fan favorite.
The trailer, which you can watch above, explains up the premise of the series. It’s about Simon Williams starring in a reboot of Wonder Man, a fictional character within the MCU. Williams is not a superhero. He just plays one on TV. Abdul-Mateen praised his character’s relatable journey as well as his love for director Destin Daniel Cretton dating back to Short Term 12. The trailer shows the nonconventional audition process for Wonder Man as well as his dynamic with Trevor Slattery. Looks to be a fun time.
In an additional teaser shown before the actors joined the stage we saw the director explain his vision over Zoom. We see some skeptical fans. There’s even, I think, a joke about Marvel’s silly working titles: the movie within the show shoots under the fake title Cash Grab 2.
VisionQuest surprised the panel with some MAJOR confirmations.
Finally, Bettany appeared on stage to talk about the third piece of the Wanda, Agatha, and Vision puzzle. He talked a bit about White Vision’s journey through memory (and lasers) and showed another exclusive teaser. Plus, as many have expected, the show will give us human versions of various MCU AI hanging out in White Vision’s mind palace, including:

- U. (Jonathan Sayer)
- J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D’Arcy)
- F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Orla Brady)
- E.D.I.T.H. (Emily Hampshire)
- Ultron (James Spader)
Each of the former robots has a distinct job and personality on the show. Jarvis is a butler like the human who inspired him. Edith is wacky. Ultron is mysterious and sassy. Fun! At the end, we got a first look at Ruaridh Mollica as yet another mysterious teen… psych! He’s officially’s playing Thomas Shepherd, a.k.a. Speed and Billy Maximoff’s twin brother. We thankfully don’t have to worry about spoilers there. It’s out there. “Masel Tov,” Ultron says to White Vision as Tommy appears on screen talking about his missing family, “it’s a boy.” Will Tommy give White Vision a purpose behind his ghostly existence? We shall see!
