Iowa woman sits behind married couple. Then the man pulls out his phone–and proceeds to cheat on his wife for the next 2 hours while holding her hand

Some people multitask at events—check their email, do a quick phone call, stay present. Others apparently juggle a full-blown side life while sitting inches from their spouse. In a TikTok that has the internet collectively squinting in disbelief, one Iowa woman realized the man in front of her was allegedly cheating.

As in mid-event, while holding his wife’s hand like nothing was happening. Subtle? Not exactly. Discreet? Absolutely not. The internet? Hoping the wife sees the TikTok and leaves the man.

Cheating: ‘He was so bold’

A new cheating maneuver has entered the chat. This time, in direct view while simultaneously hidden from the spouse. Katie (@katieforster) provided boots on the ground journalism, considering her clip and further comments.

The clip itself was only six seconds long, but the text overlay reveals: “Watched a man cheat on his wife for two hours while he held her hand & rubbed her back.” In the video, the couple is seated two rows in front of Katie.

The woman seems oblivious, paying attention to the event. The man, however, is on his phone, swiping and texting on what looks like Instagram. The worst part? The angle at which he holds his phone is an obvious attempt to hide his acts from his wife.

Katie’s caption says, “He was so bold I took it as an open invitation to read his messages lmao.”

Katie reveals more context in the comments section. One viewer asks what the event was, and Katie confirms it was a lecture series.

One skeptic asks how Katie knew he was cheating and she says, “It was obvious from the messages he was sending & receiving.”

In a separate comment, she admits that she could clearly read all his messages and divulges that the nature of them was “gross.” As for what happened with the wife, viewers are dying to know if Katie told her. Her response? “ He never left her side to give me the chance…hoping she sees this somehow.”

Other Cheating Discoveries

Surprisingly enough, Katie is not the first to catch people cheating in broad daylight. It seems a lot of them don’t realize people can overhear or read their messages from a short distance away. Such as the time a woman on a flight to Sydney saw the man sitting in front of her texting his contact labeled as ‘mom.’ Except–it probably wasn’t his mother at all.

She shared that he kept texting the woman ‘babe’ and implied that if it wasn’t a mistress, something inappropriate was going on. Funnily enough, viewers told the creator to mind their own business.

In another story covered by The Mary Sue, another woman also spied on a man’s phone habits while on a flight. Apparently, right before landing, he deleted Snapchat, Tinder, and an entire text thread with a woman named ‘Carly.’ This time, viewers were on the side of the creator, hoping Carly saw the TikTok. With Katie’s clip, many hope the same.

‘Texting sideways is crazy’

Immediately, viewers call out the method. One viewer says,  “That phone angle is just sus from a mile away.” Another chimes in, saying, “It’s the tilting the phone away for me.” A third simply says, “Texting sideways is crazy.”

On the other hand, many pity the presumably oblivious wife. “That’s hurts my heart for her,” says one viewer. Another says, “I’ll never understand cheating, literally just leave?? like that sh-t HURTS.”

One viewer diverges from the usual commentary and says, “Can we stop make ‘normal’ recording people and/ or conversation, just for a like?” A reply with almost 300 likes says, “No, Cheaters deserve to get caught.”
