White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who has been the mouthpiece of President Donald Trump throughout last year in his second term, is now facing flak for getting involved in something she wouldn’t really like her name being associated with. People on the internet are dragging her down and calling her a hypocrite, and some are even calling for her boycott, but what is it for? Continue reading to find out.
On January 17, 2026, images of Karoline Leavitt emerged online, which showed her sitting at a restaurant staring into the abyss while someone (possibly her husband) sat across her on the same table. The pictures soon spread all over social media, with many people claiming that they were taken in Fairfax County, Virginia, and the eatery she was sitting in was a Mexican one.
While enjoying food from another culture would typically be considered normal, Leavitt faced intense backlash for doing so. This is because, since becoming associated with the Trump administration, all she has done is villainise the immigrant population of the United States and elsewhere. She has repeatedly tried to negatively paint them as aggressors, robbers, rap**ts while trying to justify her and others like her’s hate towards them. Therefore, her consuming Mexican food after launching a hate campaign against minorities and immigrants makes her look like a massive hypocrite.
I did a little digging on the internet myself to find out the source of this news, and learnt that the information came from a Reddit user who basically narrated their account of witnessing Karoline Leavitt at the Mexican restaurant. Their post read:
I saw Karoline Leavitt eating tacos at a Mexican restaurant with her creepily older husband in Fairfax County, VA. She is part of an administration that is trying to ethnically cleanse our country of immigrants, especially Latino people, but is consuming their culture as she tries to eradicate it. How many of the staff have family members in hiding because of her? How many have had family deported because of her? Pure hypocrisy.”
The user also made another remark about Leavitt that reinforced her status as an imposter. They pointed out that she had noticeable injection marks on her face, which typically indicate that she has received cheek fillers. They also made an observation and mentioned that Leavitt opposes gender-affirming care for transgender individuals and is extremely anti-LGBTQIA+, yet she has no qualms about utilising services that mostly cater to them when it serves her interests.
