Joe Kent opposes U.S. plans for Iran, and Trump is suddenly questioning his character. Oh, the irony

Trump's war on Iran

No one stands a chance against Donald Trump’s wrath once they oppose him, and his recent behavior towards such individuals proves this. Anyone following the daily news since Trump won a second term last year would know about his very public fallout with his bestie, US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Although she has resigned from her position, Trump continues to criticize her to this day for opposing some of his policies.

The latest target of Donald Trump’s aggression is Joe Kent. Ever since he resigned from his role as the Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center, citing disagreement with the US’s actions in Iran, Trump hasn’t missed an opportunity to call him out. More recently, a video has been circulating on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), in which Trump questions Kent’s character, leading people to question his own.

Trump raises questions about Joe Kent’s character in new video

As previously mentioned, a video is circulating on social media where Donald Trump criticizes Joe Kent for betraying him, despite feeling sympathy for him and offering him a job. Trump, speaking to the press in the video, reveals that he met Joe Kent in Dover, where he learned that Kent had lost his wife and felt sorry for him. Adding a personal touch, Trump said that he remarried “fairly quickly.”

Many online users took offense to this comment, especially because Trump doesn’t have a clean record himself when it comes to his personal relationships. A quick Google search shows that Donald Trump has been married three times. His first marriage was to Ivana Zelníčková, his second to actress Marla Maples, with whom he had an affair while still married to Zelníčková, and his third to Melania Knauss, a relationship also surrounded by controversy.

Trump says his ‘nice guy’ personality has no place in this world

During his recent public appearance, Donald Trump told reporters he believed Joe Kent supported all decisions made by the Trump administration since last year, including the decision to attack Iran. Therefore, when Kent said he was resigning because he disagreed with the US’s decision to attack Iran, Trump said he was surprised.

He also revealed that he had offered Kent a role in his administration because he felt sorry for him, as he had lost his wife and failed to secure a congressional seat twice. But now, since Kent was going behind his back and opposing his policies, Trump believed he shouldn’t have offered him the opportunity. “They give him a job at the White House, and this is what he does to me, you know. Being a nice guy doesn’t pay off too much,” he said.
