L.A. woman orders Jersey Mike’s—then she learns not to DoorDash subs ever again: ‘They are soooo wrong for that’

Food delivery apps have made ordering takeout more convenient. At your fingertips, you can choose the restaurant you’re craving and have it delivered to your doorstep. However, there may be glitches along the way due to the app, the driver, or even the food. One Los Angeles woman was devastated after she unwrapped her Jersey Mike’s order from DoorDash, to the point she called out the restaurant.
TikTok creator Bradley Evette (@bradleyevette) films her unwrapped cut-in-half Jersey Mike’s sub on the kitchen counter. Then, she picks up the butter knife she used to cut the sandwich and taps the bread, which is as solid as a brick.
When the content creator digs her index finger into it, the bread crunches, leaving behind a dent. Disappointed, she writes in the text overlay, “I just wanted a lil Jersey Mike’s. They give you anything when you DoorDash your food, I swear.”
Fueled by her outrage, Bradley blasts the sandwich chain and has to improvise. “Now @jerseymikes girl. I had to do a make shift sub in a tub because that bread was too crunchy. I was so mad I didn’t say anything. Still love yall tho but dang,” she captions the video.
Viewers slammed Jersey Mike’s
Bradley’s video racked up more than 601,000 views, where viewers believed Jersey Mike’s did her dirty.
“They are soooo wrong for that,” one viewer criticized.
That’s so [expletive] disrespectful bro,” another condemned
Moreover, others resonated with her experience, sharing how their orders through DoorDash were less-than-appetizing
“Anytime I order DoorDash there’s always something off or wrong. I swear they don’t care,” one commenter remarked.
“Every time too! They do not try at all and then you can’t every get a refund,” a second agreed.
To address Bradley’s complaint, the restaurant company entered the chat.
“Noooo. Let’s make this right – send us a dm!” they wrote in the comments section.
Does Jersey Mike’s use stale bread for its sandwiches?
This seems to be the case and applies to all orders, including delivery. Yahoo reported that it’s not uncommon for employees to toast day-old bread for hot sandwiches.
“At my [store] we only use the bread from the day before for hot subs. All cold subs use fresh bread,” a Jersey Mike’s employee elaborated on Reddit, per Yahoo. “When you heat up the bread on the grill for the hot sub [it] still [tastes] good.” On the other hand, the freshest rolls, just out of the oven, are reserved for cold hoagies.
Because the content creator ordered a cold sub, several factors could have caused the firm bread, including improper storage, overbaking, and the location.
