Houston Woman Leaves Meatballs in the Fridge for Nearly a Week, Then Roommates’ Message in the Group Ignites Her Anger: ‘Drama Right After School’

Meatball mayhem

For someone who has only lived away from home once in their life, I was very lucky to have the roommate I did. However, not everyone is as fortunate as I was. In fact, my roommate only shared a few horror stories about living with people while staying away from home, both before and after she became my roommate.

TikTok user @bryiabrenee has a similar story about her roommates Doof and Doofus (names redacted for privacy), but especially Doof, who basically humiliated her by publicly pointing out one of her flaws when she was already feeling down after weeks of being sick.

@bryiabrenee disses on her roommate

In a video she uploaded to her TikTok account six days ago, @bryiabrenee mentioned that she has three roommates. While one of them is good, the other two aren’t that much. To maintain their privacy, she calls them Doof and Doofus in the video.

Providing some background before explaining the main incident, @bryiabrenee stated she had been feeling pretty unwell for a while, so much so that she had to use devices that aid her breathing, including ones typically used by asthma patients. Then, getting to the main story, Bryia said that on May 4, 2026, which was the Monday before Cinco de Mayo, she made some meatballs. She ate some that day but couldn’t finish them all, so she decided to store the leftovers in the fridge. However, she had no Tupperware because her roommates, Doof and Doofus, had used it up and didn’t wash it. So, Bryia decided to put the entire pot in the fridge. The next day, she fell so sick that she couldn’t eat the meatballs, and as she mentions in her video, she didn’t eat for several days after that because she didn’t feel like eating. A week passed, and the meatballs were still in the fridge. Bryia’s roommates, Doof and Doofus, saw the food, and Doof decided to make a snide remark about her. Bryia admits in her video that the rotting meatballs in the fridge were “nasty” and takes full responsibility for it, but calls out Doof, who chose to address the situation by posting a story of Bryia’s rotten meatballs to her spam account with the caption, “Rule Number 1, get clean roommates,” instead of directly texting her or posting about it in the house’s group chat. Talking about her roommates, Bryia mentions that many of their actions cause her inconvenience. However, she rarely confronts them, as she preferrs to keep peace. However, in this case, as foreshadowed in the first few minutes of her video, she erupted and decided to confront her roommates over their behavior.

A significant number of people in the comments section of @bryiabrenee’s video, where she talks about facing mistreatment from her roommate, have expressed their support for her, emphasizing that her roommates are in the wrong in this situation. User @bellekash1 wrote, “It was wrong to post the food especially if they know you usually clean up & y’all have a group chat it could’ve been brought up the right way!” User @nidiamariee said, “is spoiled food nasty yes, when it goes bad in the fridge does that make you nasty not fr it depends on the situation. in this situation ur not nasty/dirty.”

Others had opinions on the whole matter. User @trxxpz.nayyy commented, “drama right after school.” User @kaelin.nicoleb mentioned, “She could’ve literally just said, “hey, I see your meatballs still in the fridge, they’re molded just letting you know.’”

People having problems with their roommates is very common

Problems with roommates are quite common. A Georgetown University study found that one-third of college students face roommate conflicts, and 17% report that these issues affect their academic performance.

Living with someone new often leads to challenges. Last year, roughly one out of three US college students experienced roommate problems. While many of these issues can be resolved easily, they can also escalate into larger concerns if not addressed promptly.
