“Giving He-Man Pronouns”: Angry Men Online Miss a Funny Joke in ‘Masters of Universe’ Trailer

a group of people walking in a line

People are angry that there was a pronoun reference to He-Man. Really, the jokes just write themselves anymore. What makes me mad is that it is such a good joke, but of course the worst people can’t handle it, because everything is woke. Woke is bad.

The trailer for Masters of the Universe starring Nicolas Galitzine was recently released, and it actually looks…good? Galitzine takes on the role of Adam Glenn, and in this version, Prince Adam has been on Earth since he was a boy. However, that all changes when he’s called back to Eternia to grab the Sword of Grayskull and become He-Man.

In one shot in the trailer, we see Adam’s name plate on his desk. As is becoming more common in corporate America, his pronouns were included. And like I said before, it’s a damn good joke. His name is literally a pronoun and–never mind. It doesn’t matter.

The trailer caused a bit of an uproar on X. According to one user, “[they’re] giving He-Man pronouns. These people won’t stop until they ruin everything.” As many pointed out, saying “giving He-Man pronouns” is kind of hilarious. You know, since the “HE” was right there.

“What’s next?! She/Ra?” one user said in the comments. Luckily, many online were making fun of those who were really angry over the “He/Him” nod. Those people were the definition of the “Child left behind” meme because did you guys just not realize that He-Man IS a pronoun?

Now, you may ask yourself, maybe they’re making a joke? They’re not. Perhaps worse still are the people who see this as a dig against pronouns, rather than being a funny little visual gag. People. We all have pronouns. How else would we identify?

It’s not that serious. It’s really not. Log off! Please!
