‘Glee’ Made Matthew Morrison Into a Household Name. Now He’s Doing Bizarre Concerts.

Glee‘s legacy continues to live on in ways that no one could have even imagined. If you watched Fox’s musical dramedy for long enough, something from it probably sticks with you to this day: a particular cover that you’ll argue is better than the original song, or a goofy one-liner delivered from one of the show’s ensemble cast members.
The latest way that Glee has stuck with me has been through a new TikTok rabbit hole, centered around one of the show’s stars, Matthew Morrison. Morrison, who played teacher Will Schuester on the show, is currently embarking on his “Rhythms and Revelations” concert series. Described on his official website as “a car wash for your soul,” videos of the show have made their way to my FYP… and they’ve been something to behold.
“Rhythms and Revelations” is not quite a one-man show, as Morrison has a small backing band of musicians accompanying him on the tour. But in some ways, it spiritually is. I’ve gotten very few TikToks of the actual musical performances during the show, which include Coldplay’s “Fix You” and a “Disney medley”. What I have gotten are videos of everything else that happens during the shows: a mix between slam poetry, monologuing, close-up magic, crowd work with the audience, and very spirited dancing.
At “Rhythms and Revelations”, Morrison can (and will) do a lot of things. He’s mused about the “bad pancake” theory. He’s asked the audience if they think he could pass for a sixteen-year-old. He’s recounted how he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him in the middle of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And he’ll start dancing in a way that is almost indescribable, especially when paired with the sound of shoes squeaking on a basketball court, or the audible snickers from the actual audience.
Morrison’s energy during the shows has been memed. It has led many to joke that maybe he wasn’t acting as Mr. Schue, or that his onscreen rival Sue Sylvester might’ve been in the right.
A Car Wash For Your Soul?!
“In this show, I’m not just here to perform; I’m here to spark something within you,” Morrison writes. “I want you to leave with a sense of inquiry, curiosity, and wonder about your own life. Many concerts entertain, but I invite you to take a closer look inside. To see the beating heart of music and dance, not just as art forms but as reflections of our deepest selves. This show comes from my heart—it’s a piece of my soul laid bare. I’m stepping outside of all the characters I’ve played, shedding every mask, and diving deep into my authenticity and vulnerability. In Rhythms & Revelations, I’m fully alive, and I want you to feel that aliveness too. Join me on this journey, and let’s explore the depths within us all.”
This vibe isn’t even exclusive to Morrison’s concerts. The videos on his Cameo account, which are currently priced starting at $274, are an equally-bizarre treasure trove. Morrison only joined the platform in early December, but there are already so many videos that are delightful. He sings, he quotes memes, he delivers the phrase “Hey divas!” in a way that hasn’t left my head since I first saw it.
A video posted by the official Cameo account perfectly captures this tonal shift, cutting back and forth between him (perhaps unsurprisingly) putting his own stamp on the “Madame Morrible, Wicked Witch” meme, and delivering an encouraging message for someone who just got into a car accident.
Honestly, the more TikToks I see from Morrison’s concerts, the more I find them mesmerizing and endearing. He commits to the bit so wholeheartedly that you can’t help but respect it. According to his website, the tour continues through the end of March… and I will be refreshing my feed to see what new bizarre clips come out until then. Rock on, Matthew Morrison.
