A24 released the trailer for the film, which is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival, and it shows the story of Joan getting to the afterlife only to discover that there, you can choose where to spend eternity and who you want to spend it with. The problem being that Joan’s first husband died in the war and her second husband of nearly 50 years also recently died.

The film is described as follows: “In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) and her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.”

The David Freyne film asks us an important question: What husband of yours would you willing spend the rest of time with? Freyne wrote the film with Pat Cunnane and from what the trailer shows, this is going to be one emotionally sweet film.

Yes, it seems “cute” to watch as both Callum Turner and Miles Teller fight over Elizabeth Olsen but the more I think about this movie, the more I realize just how beautifully poignant and sad this is going to be. You can have the life you’ve always dreamt of with your first love but never see your second love again? That doesn’t feel fair!

As always, I am team throuple but I cannot wait to see what the film has in store for us. So who would you chose to spend the rest of eternity with? See who Joan picks when Eternity hits theaters this November.
