A Chicago woman had an unusual experience when dining at an Italian restaurant. That’s because a woman nearby bumped into her date multiple times throughout the night and fell into her own appetizer midway through service.

TikToker Dana Nozime (@dananozime) was on a date at one of her favorite spots in the Chicago area. However, she ended up paying more attention to the couple next to her than to her night out. Nozime noticed that despite the woman next to her being so inebriated that she could barely stand, the restaurant staff watched the incident and seemingly did not intervene.

Nozime described it as  ”the craziest experience at a restaurant in Chicago that I still cannot get over,” in her video, which has garnered over 25,000 viewers. Commenters were even able to identify what the restaurant might be based on the couple’s behavior and the staff’s reaction, because it might not be the first time this “couple” harassed customers while dining.

Nozime’s experience at the restaurant

Nozime went on a date to one of her favorite spots in the Chicago area. She and her date decided to sit at the bar, as there are “very few tables” inside the Italian restaurant. They took the opportunity to order some drinks and chat with the intention of ordering some food later in the evening.

But, Nozime overheard a couple sitting next to them ordering water at the bar. It immediately set off a red flag in her mind, especially considering the behavior she noticed from the couple afterward. Nozime realized that the woman sitting next to her date was extremely inebriated and could barely stand on her own.

“ So the girl was sitting next to my date, and then her date was obviously sitting next to her. She started falling over onto my date,” Nozime said. “ When her food came out, she couldn’t even fork her food. Her fork was literally like moving all around the plate.”

Nozime noticed that the woman’s date, who was sitting away from her date, was laughing at how drunk she was. Nozime thought that he was also inebriated, but he was significantly less drunk than his partner.

What else was the couple doing?

At one point,  Nozime described that the woman’s Christian Dior fur coat was on the ground. When a mozzarella dish came out for her, and she tried to eat, she kept missing her mouth. She got mozzarella sauce on her arms and face because she was simply too inebriated to feed herself properly. Both things made Nozime concerned.

The most surprising part? Nozime thought that the restaurant staff knew and were not doing anything.

“ Bar staff or like the restaurant staff ever told them to leave… [or] maybe they did. All I remember is the guy saying, ‘OK, like we’ll get this boxed up.’” Nozime recalled. She described the woman getting frustrated with her date for asking for the check. The woman ended up paying for the bill, and the couple left.

“ Like it honestly was insane how drunk this girl was and the fact that like nobody really did anything,” Nozime said.

Nozime also mentioned how inappropriate the setting was. It wasn’t an Irish pub or a regular bar—it was a sit-down restaurant that happened to have a bar section. Eventually, though, someone apologized  to them. That’s when their bartender said something shocking about the woman’s behavior. “Our bartender goes, I am so sorry about that,” Nozime said. “And then she goes, ‘but I get it. I’ve been that girl before.’”

Nozime was still completely taken off guard by the restaurant’s behavior and how they approached the situation. To her, it wasn’t usual to be that drunk at the bar in such a public way. Dismayed, she simply added that it was “crazy” toward the end of her video.

What restaurant did Nozime go to?

One commenter may have been able to figure out which Italian restaurant Nozime went to, albeit via a private direct message exchange.

“If this place starts with an “E” I think I’ve encountered this couple,” the viewer said.  Nozime seemingly confirmed that the restaurant starts with an “E,” saying, “OMG TEXT ME,” a day later. She didn’t confirm which restaurant she dined at in the comments section publicly.

Other commenters tried to fill in the blanks. Another viewer guessed that the Chicago Italian restaurant might be “Elina’s or Ciccio.” But, Elina’s doesn’t have a matching “mozzarella dish” listed on its website, which matches Nozime’s description. Ciccio doesn’t start with an E, despite having mozzarella sticks on its menu.

Ultimately, it’s up to Nozime to confirm the exact Italian restaurant she went to, something she might just keep anonymous.
