Dallas woman orders Taco Bell on DoorDash. Then the driver gets a little too honest in the chat: ‘That’s someone I’d trust with my food ngl’

DoorDash can be a time-consuming venture. As soon as you place your order on the app, it turns into a waiting game. Of course, variables like the weather, distance, and the restaurant’s busyness can all play a role in order delays. That’s where communication becomes vital. For this Dallas-based woman, her DoorDash driver was brutally honest about what the Taco Bell employees were up to.
What Did Her DoorDash Driver Say?
The first photo in the slideshow features TikTok creator Chungussunday (@chungussunday) side-eyeing while holding a drink in a styrofoam cup.
“Sometimes, you gotta read your doordasher’s text and just go on with your day,” she writes in the text overlay. Then, the second photo reveals a conversation between her and her DoorDash driver named Emely.
“Hey everything ok?” the content creator asks. When Emely replies, her string of frustrated messages indicates she’s crashing out.
“No. This [expletive] bull [expletive] [expletive] Taco Bell has everyone sitting while they shake their [expletive] in the kitchen,” she responds, followed by another message. “I’ve been waiting for over an hour.”
Because of this, Chungssunday revealed in the comments section that she rewarded her driver. “She got tipped extra don’t worry,” she writes.
Viewers Applaud The Honesty
The video amassed 7.4 million views since it was posted on Feb. 10. Viewers praised Emely and would’ve also expressed their appreciation through different methods.
“That’s someone I’d trust with my food ngl,” one viewer commented.
“Immediately 5 stars and a tip,” another stated.
“I’m 100% tipping double after that,” a third said.
Moreover, other DoorDash drivers entered that chat by claiming this wasn’t uncommon at Taco Bell.
“As a door dasher, Taco Bell and wing stop are the worst places to pick up orders from. The workers don’t do anything and they stand there goofing off,” one commenter shared.
A second echoed, “As a doordasher i will say i hate getting orders from tacobell cause they dont start making the order until you get there but it takes them 5-10 minutes just to fawking address me & ask what i need.”
Is Taco Bell A Hassle For DoorDash Drivers?
Although each location varies, there are several Reddit posts from alleged DoorDash drivers griping about similar issues. In a r/doordash_drivers subreddit posted on Jan. 29, drivers vented their grievances about picking up orders from the fast food restaurant, citing long wait times and incompetent employees.
“I agree. The Taco Bell in my area is the WORST out of all other fast food joints. I’ve seen other dashers walk out and cancel cause of wait times. The employees just don’t give AF. Honestly, they need new management and fire all the people working there. They ignore dashers / customers and just leave finished meals behind the counter where you can’t reach but only can see,” one Redditor remarked.
“100 percent correct. I’m going to automatically start declining Taco Bell. Very first time I did it was easy. The last two times have been atrocious. Most of the time I can’t get help from the employees and they’re very rude,” another concurred.
Moreover, online delivery orders aren’t the only complaints. In a worst chain restaurant to order takeout from article, Mashed ranked Taco Bell at No. 3. However, it’s not the same reasons as DoorDash drivers. The fast food company is infamous for incorrect orders and missing items with both dine-in and takeout.
When ordering from anywhere through any method, prepare for the unexpected.
