Woman flies first-class in Delta. Then she sees her seat is missing a major amenity:‘Tell me you’ve never flown a regional airline without telling me’

When you fly first class, you expect to have all the available amenities one could get on an aircraft.
For one woman flying Delta, however, her first-class seat was missing one thing she clearly expected to have.
In her video, which got over 746,600 views, travel content creator @jetlaggedjk posted a clip of her lackluster Delta first-class experience, sparking debate in the comments about whether this is normal or not.
What Was Missing From the Delta Flight?
“When he books ‘First Class’ and this is your seat,” she wrote in the video’s text overlay.
@jetlaggedjk films the seat in front of her, which notably has no seatback screen.
“I feel like it should be illegal to not have screens in first class,” she added in the video’s caption.
Is This Common?
Depending on the plane, it can be.
A first-class ticket does not automatically mean every seat will come with a screen, lie-flat bed, or long-haul-style setup. On some domestic or regional flights, first class may simply mean a larger seat at the front of the plane, more legroom, earlier boarding, and better service.
Additionally, recently, some airlines have made the decision to get rid of seatback screens on some of their aircraft. According to a blog post by Simple Flying, the move helps airlines save money on fuel and maintenance costs. These devices are heavy, which means more fuel is spent, and repairs can be expensive.
The move also comes as passengers increasingly skip in-flight screens and opt to use their own devices instead.
While Delta reportedly still sees in-flight screens as an important part of its experience, as shown by news that it will start updating its in-flight entertainment with more intelligent, higher-IQ screens, this may be more of a domestic-flight issue. In the U.S., first class does not always guarantee a luxury experience.
Is Domestic First Class Worth It?
Several travel experts say you shouldn’t waste your money or miles on domestic first class unless the upgrade is genuinely worth the price. Usually, the seat doesn’t lie flat, the experience is not a dramatic upgrade from economy, and the benefits may not justify the cost.
That does not mean domestic first class is always bad. You may still get more space, earlier boarding, a better snack or meal, and a more comfortable seat. But if you’re expecting an international-style first-class experience, you may be disappointed.
Not Everyone Is On Her Side
In the comments section, several viewers said the creator may have expected too much from a domestic or regional first-class seat.
“It’s funny watching people go on first class for the first time – and it’s a domestic flight,” one user wrote.
“Tell me you’ve never flown a regional airline without telling me you’ve never flown a regional airline,” another said.
However, just because a flight is regional does not automatically mean it will not have screens. It depends on the airline, aircraft, and specific route.
“That is first class for a narrow body aircraft,” another commenter wrote. “You’re not getting a lay flat bed for a 2hr flight.”
Another agreed, writing, “Domestic first class is not the same and is NOT worth it.”
