A Delta Airlines customer was left stunned after an airport worker asked her an unbelievable question.

Walking through the airport, Alaska-based TikToker Megan Currier (@megannncurrier) began by saying: “OK, guys. You will not believe what just happened. So my parents and I were just checking in at the Detroit airport. We were trying to drop our bags off, and so we were like… ‘Yep, we’re going to Anchorage, Alaska.'”

“And she’s like, ‘Passport, please.’ And we were like… ‘We don’t have our passports. Here’s my ID.’ She’s like, ‘I need your passport.’ We were like, ‘What is going on?’ And this girl was like, ‘Oh, my bad.’ Alaska is in this country. Are you kidding me? A lady at Delta said that.”

In the description of the video, which has amassed 86,200 views, she added: “It’s working for an airline and thinking Alaska is in a different country for me.”

‘It costs nothing to show some grace’

However, commenters didn’t react in the way Currier perhaps anticipated.

Many of them took the worker’s side. “Babe – these people are over worked,” one wrote. “The weather has been wild. Schedules keep changing. She was probably exhausted while checking people in. Not that serious.”

“She probably has been working an international flight beforehand and just was in work mode,” a second pointed out.

While a third echoed, “I actually don’t think this is a big deal. We all forget things. Now if she argued after being told it was a US state, then I’d be concerned.”

“It’s almost like it’s the holidays and she’s checked in thousands of people and is probably exhausted,” a fourth said. “It costs nothing to show some grace.”

“What’s it like up on your high throne where you make no mistakes ever?” a fifth sniped.

In an email, a Delta spokesperson told The Mary Sue: “We can’t corroborate the authenticity of this user post as-is. Delta invites customers to contact us directly with their feedback and specifics about their travel. We look into each claim and respond accordingly.”

Currier didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

Delta flight attendant kicks passenger off the plane after he refuses to answer a question

On the flip side, in another viral video, a question put to another Delta passenger ended with him getting thrown off the plane. Delta flight attendant Savannah (@savannah0191) recounted the story in a clip that ended up amassing 918,000 views.

She explained that one of her duties is to brief those sitting in the exit rows. As part of this, she is required to ask these passengers if they could verbally confirm whether they’d be able to help in an emergency.

However, one particular passenger repeatedly refused to say ‘yes’ when prompted. He was adamant that his nodding was sufficient. Apparently, this passenger was vexed because he didn’t receive a first-class upgrade: he was also heard referring to the other passengers as “peasants.”

Because he refused to give verbal confirmation, Savannah arranged for the Delta captain to personally escort him off the flight.
