Paparazzi Are Calling a ‘Heated Rivalry’ Star “Irrelevant” Because He Doesn’t Want to Do Their Free Labor

The news that paparazzi still hound celebrities like this is almost as shocking as their behavior. The audacity, really. Nobody is owed anything, especially to people whose job titles are just fancy excuses to stalk celebrities and take unsolicited photos. (Not you, hired paparazzi. You’re safe–for now.)
As everybody knows, unless you live under a rock or are homophobic, Heated Rivalry has taken over the world. You can’t go a day without seeing a photo or an article or hear somebody talking about it. Don’t get me wrong; I love that it’s popular. Queer media, especially in times like this, is the most at-risk, so seeing a queer show take off is wonderful.
However, an unfortunate side-effect of that is unwanted attention, which is what happened recently to star Connor Storie, who plays Ilya Rosanov in the show.
Recently, Storrie and costar François Arnaud were seen together at LAX. Once spotted, the paparazzi hounded them both, but especially Storrie. In the video, the paparazzo can be heard asking Storrie various questions, all of which go unanswered while Storrie covers his face with his jacket. Arnaud did the same, but seemed to be spared the brunt of the harassment.
When this failed to get the desired response from the Heated Rivalry star, the paparazzo says, “Next year you’ll be irrelevant.”
First, that is an insane thing to say to somebody. Storrie worked hard to get where he is, and ignoring one lowly paparazzo isn’t going to undo any of that. I really don’t know why we still allow this to happen when tabloids and internet gossip blogs are a bygone era. If you want to see anything about anybody, go to their social media.
Say it with me: You are not entitled to a person’s attention just because they’re a celebrity. Stop being weird about it and get a real job.
