California woman gets $400 Coach bag on sale for $200. So why is she returning it to get the Bleecker bag instead?: ‘Don’t return it, send it to me’

Buyer’s remorse doesn’t always hit because something is wrong with what you bought. Sometimes it hits because you see something else right after, and suddenly the original purchase doesn’t feel right anymore.
That’s what happened to one California woman, who realized a discounted Coach bag she snagged on sale still wasn’t the one she actually wanted.
Instead of keeping both, she decided to return the cheaper find and swap it for the bag she couldn’t stop thinking about, even though commenters begged her not to.
Why She Decided To Return The Bag
TikTok creator Kassandra Valdovinos (@kesofresco) posted a video unboxing a croc-embossed Coach Brooklyn bag that retail prices around $400, which she picked up on sale for about $200. The twist? She already knew it was going back.
“I have an unboxing, but I ordered this before I went to go check out the Bleecker bag, so I will be returning it,” she explains at the start of the clip. “But why not unbox?”
She admits the sale is what pulled her in. “The sales got me. I’m sorry,” she says while opening the box. At one point, she pauses, clearly tempted. “What if I just keep it, though?”
Still, reality sets in. “No, I couldn’t. I couldn’t. I’m poor,” she jokes. “I have to pay off these credit cards.”
As she tries the croc Brooklyn on, she doesn’t deny that it looks good. “She’s cute. She really is,” she says. But once she pulls out the Coach Bleecker bag and puts that on instead, her tone changes again.
“Look at that. Feel like no competition,” she says. “I’m sorry, croc. You’re cute, though.”
By the end of the video, she’s even more steadfast in her decision. “I’m gonna return this one, ’cause obviously I gotta keep this one,” she says.
Commenters Don’t Want Her To Return It
In the comments, plenty of viewers questioned the logic behind returning a heavily discounted bag.
“KEEP IT! It was only $175 for a retail bag,” one person wrote.
Another admitted the video gave them anxiety about their own purchase. “Why are you returning the Brooklyn? I just ordered and scared I won’t like it now lol.”
Some commenters even shared that they made the opposite choice. “I returned the Bleecker bag for this one!” one person wrote, explaining that the Brooklyn worked better with how they wear their bags.
Others focused on styling potential. “Yeah this is a must keep. It will elevate so many simple outfits,” another commenter added. “The croc is divine.”
Still, Valdovinos stuck with her choice, replying to several comments and making it clear that the Bleecker just felt more like her.
@kesofresco Unbox the Croc Coach Brooklyn with me! I will not be keeping her (unless @Coach wants to gift to me???) lol, anyway I purchased before I fell in love with the Bleecker bag ? but shes still cute to look at! #unboxing #coach #purse #brooklynbag #bag ♬ Join the Team-Backing Track – Jason LoCricchio
Why Shoppers Wait For Coach Sales
Valdovinos’ dilemma isn’t unusual. Coach shoppers regularly wait for sales before pulling the trigger, especially on higher-priced bags.
Coach runs promotions throughout the year, with discounts often ranging from 20% to 50% during major sale periods. Black Friday and end-of-season clearances tend to bring the steepest markdowns, while smaller holiday sales offer more modest discounts.
The brand also maintains a permanent sale section online and a separate outlet site, where past-season styles and outlet-exclusive designs are marked down year-round. Signing up for Coach’s email list can unlock first-time purchase discounts, and rewards members often get early access to sales before items sell out.
