‘I bought one last week’: Woman finds carton of Chobani on shelf at Target. Then she pops it open, and regrets it

Adding creamer to a cup of coffee can be a delicious pick-me-up to start the day. But this ordinary morning ritual can easily turn sour if there’s anything off-putting in the creamer bottle.
What did this woman notice in a Chobani at Target?
In a video with over 329,000 views, TikTok creator America (@americagracee) is shaking a bottle of Chobani Sweet Cream coffee creamer while wandering the aisles at Target. Then, she stops in her tracks, opens it, and takes a peek. What she sees inside makes her jaw drop and sends her into laughter.
When she lifts the camera, the content creator unveils the “January 26, 2026” expiration date printed on the bottle. Afterward, she zooms inside the bottle to reveal chunky white contents. However, this isn’t the first time.
“Chobani, I love you but you seriously need to get these off the shelf and I bought one last week that was chunky too,” America shares in the text overlay.
Baffled, America calls out the company in the caption, “@Chobani I can’t imagine them all being on the shelf like this.”
Viewers weigh in
America’s clip resonated with many viewers in her comments section, who noticed curdled creamer in their Chobani across stores and dates.
“I’ve bought different chobani flavors at a few diff stores recently and they’ve all been chunky. I’ve used this brand for months it’s so annoying,” one viewer shared.
“My daughter and I LOVE the cookie butter and white chocolate one. But swear we’ve had at least 5 get chunky on us in the last 2 months,” a second revealed.
“I drank one that was rotten. Expiration date was feb. I poured it in the sink and it was chunky at the bottom. So gross. Never again,” another recalled.
As a result, some swore off the brand altogether.
“Yup, I stopped buying them because of this. I now make my own creamer lol,” one commenter stated.
“I stopped buying it. Nothing like chunks in the morning when ya trying to wake up,” a second remarked.
Why does the Chobani creamer look like that?
Chobani uses natural ingredients in its coffee creamers, including milk, cream, cane sugar, and, in some varieties, vanilla extract. In fact, they use the same process to blend their coffee creamers as they do their yogurts, according to their website. However, it appears it could’ve been a manufacturing error on their part. This issue reached the r/costco subreddit, where Redditors reported finding chunks in their Chobani creamers. However, one user allegedly received a response from someone who contacted the company.
“‘It seems we have experienced a blending issue in our natural creamer making process. This can cause cream to separate and rise to the top. While it’s safe to enjoy, we know it’s not what you expect from us,’” they explained.
Although the creamer is allegedly safe to consume, anyone who purchased it before the expiration date can contact Chobani. Moreover, Everyday Health states that if coffee creamer smells rancid, tastes sour, or appears lumpy, it’s gone bad and should be discarded.
