‘I’m about to be catching print all summer’: Woman goes to the gym. Then she learns how to ‘catch print’

A woman opened TikTok after a gym session, only to learn how to “catch print” on it. The discovery of her new skill seemed to both amuse and baffle her, considering she inadvertently unlocked a new way to look at the opposite gender, whether she wanted to or not.
Now, quite a few confused TikTokers and commenters are asking what that means. What is print? Why is she catching it? And why is that so amusing?
TikTok content creator Ravin (@thats.so.ravin) laughed hysterically at the term—and her seeing an actual tutorial about it on her for your page—in her video with over 266,000 views. But what does it mean to even “catch print,” and why are women saying they’re going to start doing it at every function they go to?
What is ‘catching print?’
A few of Ravin’s commenters had no idea what catching print was, so other viewers—and the internet itself—had to tell them. Catching print is actually a new loaded term and innuendo that’s been making the rounds in 2026. It effectively describes when a person is “sizing up” another person based on the outline of their trousers.
TikToker Anwar White (@datingwithcoachanwar) is credited with creating the term, and is also one of a few content creators who has made a very descriptive tutorial on how to “catch print.” The original video shows that White even created a rating system for “catching print,” going from A to D depending on the shape and contour of men’s pants, which other accounts have since reposted after White deleted the original. Those ratings correlate to inches, with White adding that around 60 percent of men land in the “B” category.
Now, women everywhere are saying that they’re going to start “catching print,” partially because if a man can judge a woman purely based on looks, then a woman should theoretically be able to judge them based on their “size.” Or at least, that’s one of the reasons why so many people say they’re catching print.
What other strategies are women using other than ‘catching print?’
Women in White’s comments added that there are more than a few methods to figure out whether a man is packing beyond staring at a man’s pants. For one, viewers supplied the thumb theory, which posits that a man’s thumb size correlates to his ‘other’ size.
Then, some commenters mentioned that growers get the short end of the stick for “catching print.” For that reason, they argued that blindly trusting the “catching print” theory can undervalue a few men.
That’s something that commenters on Ravin’s video also mentioned. One commenter said, “bad day for us growers.” Another reflected on the theory, saying, “It’s a whole lotta As,” in disappointment.
Viewers also said that once a person learns how to “catch print,” it’s a bit difficult to unlearn it or stop thinking about it. At least, it is for a while. That’s one reason why the term has endearingly stuck with many women who watched White’s original video.
