An Austin rideshare driver has gone viral after a passenger made some startling revelations in the back of his car. Revelations so startling, in fact, that the driver decided to issue a PSA to his girlfriend.

In the TikTok, which has amassed 8.8 million views, driver Shawn (@shawntv96) says, “If you live in Austin, Texas, and your boyfriend, his name is Bradley, and you plan on going on spring break with him in the next week. This video is for you.”

His advice? To dump Bradley. “Matter of fact, you should wait until you get to the airport, cancel his ticket, and then dump him at the airport, so he’s stuck there,” he added.

He then explained how Bradley was saying that he was planning to break up with his girlfriend after their spring break vacation that she paid for because “he wants to go on a free spring break trip.”

“He also said some very unkind things about you,” Shawn added. “The nicest thing he said about you in the backseat of my car would be that you were boring. He also doesn’t like your mother, he called her a very cruel word.”

The rideshare driver then shared some details about Bradley’s appearance and speculated that he was a University of Texas student, given that he picked him up on the University of Texas campus.

“I’m going to assume that he’s in a fraternity because he mentioned something about your sorority and his fraternity doing some event before you guys go on spring break that you have to be at together, something like that,” he added.

What did commenters think?

Some commenters praised Shawn for his PSA.

“I love a girl’s girl,” one wrote. “Thank you for your service.”

A second commenter echoed: “I live in Austin and let me tell you- WE LOVE A GIRLS GIRRRRRL SHAWN!! Thank you for your service to the girls. I hope I catch your Uber at least one hunnny bc you’re doing the Lord’s work and I wanna give you a good tip lmao.”

Others shared how far the video had travelled—from Austin, to the UK, to Greece, to Finland, and even to Africa.

While a third admitted, “I’m only here to see if Bradley’s trip got cancelled.”

As more keen commenters awaited an update, some were more concerned by the idea of Bradley’s ex paying for the trip by herself.

“Ladies, why are you paying for vacations?” a fourth asked, while a fifth added, “Ladies, y’all need to stop paying for vacations with these boyfriends.”

The driver issues an update

In an update video, Shawn confirmed that Bradley’s girlfriend had gotten in touch in light of the TikTok’s virality. However, he noted that she wishes to stay anonymous.

She gave Shawn permission to give an update, and he confirmed that she is going to dump him before their spring break trip. She also said through Shawn that Bradley is a “loser” and that ‘it’ isn’t an Xbox controller.

The final blow was the revelation that Bradley isn’t actually in a fraternity—he got rejected, and he and his now-ex aren’t even students at the University of Texas.

In an email statement to The Mary Sue, Shawn added that he “didn’t expect THIS level” of virality.

“It’s never been like this,” he said. “I expected a couple 100k, as usual, just because I know the algorithm and how it works. I did not expect millions of views. And what’s it like being viral? I’m booking a flight to LA (I am not, I’m staying in my house lol).”

As for takeaways? “As always, it’s just be careful.”

Shawn has gone viral before

This isn’t the first time Shawn’s rideshare stories have gone viral. Back in November, he went viral after sharing a passenger’s complaint over what they called their “worst date ever.”

The customer, who coincidentally is also called Bradley, complained that his date didn’t have her “natural” hair color, was apparently domineering, didn’t order a “womanly” dinner, ordered too many drinks, ordered a masculine drink, and got dessert while he didn’t.

“If you went on a date tonight with Bradley… I would block him and run,” Shawn said.
