A bride and her nine-woman bridal party spend months planning for her Cabo bachelorette party. However, an American Airlines cancellation quickly throws off their plans. What the check-in agent says adds insult to injury.

In a video with over 760,000 views, TikToker Mary Reile (@mary.reile) films herself with mascara running down her cheeks in the airport.

On-screen text reads, “When your bachelorette flight is cancelled on a wednesday and american airlines employee said, ‘Save your tears. I’ve seen a million of you today.'”

To make matters worse, the next available flight that could take all of the bridesmaids was on Saturday. The delay would shave days off the trip.

She says that some of her bridesmaids never got their bags, which the airline lost after the cancellation.

“So many people on our flights into Dallas were going to Cabo… so not sure why they wouldn’t try to add a new flight to the schedule and fit everyone stranded on it the next day,” Reile suggests in a comment. “The plane I flew on was the one scheduled to fly to Cabo so the plane was there.”

Did she make it to her Cabo bachelorette?

Luckily, Reile and her bridal party quickly regrouped for “Operation Save Cabo” and were able to take a small plane to their destination the next day.

She shares a clip of herself walking happily across the runway to their plane.

The caption reads, “By the grace of God + kind hearted people… PLOT TWIST: WE MADE IT TO CABO. Other than my marriage, this will be marked as a core memory for 2025!”

In another video on her page, Reile shares the bridesmaids running around the resort they booked, celebrating that they made it.

She later clarifies in a comment that the reason for the cancellation was the weather.

“Yes, morning storms but cleared by afternoon. Still think they should have had a better alternative than a flight 3 days later…,” she writes.

Despite the cold reply from the American Airlines worker, they likely followed the airline’s policy regarding rebookings. According to American Airlines‘ website, travelers will be booked on the next available flight with seats, not necessarily the next flight to that destination.

Has this happened to other American Airlines travelers?

In the comments of the viral TikTok, others say they’ve experienced similar frustrations with American Airlines cancelling trips for major milestones. And some say they’ve heard similarly chilly responses from its agents.

“I cried ugly tears at the agent desk for AA when they looked me straight in the face on a Sunday morning and told me i wouldn’t make it to my honeymoon until Wednesday at the earliest,” one says.

Another bride shares, “This happened to me as well! Used American going to my Bach trip to the Dominican Republic and loss a whole day on an already short 4 day trip.”

“Queen American made me miss a whole day of my honeymoon in Paris that my husband and I spent two years saving for,” a third comments.

Reile remarks, “Delta would never.”
