Alright what is going on with ‘Chad Powers’ season 2?

I feel like I am screaming into a void about the show Chad Powers and how much I loved it. Which has made the wait for news on season 2 unbearable.

The series wrapped a little less than a month ago and we haven’t heard anything on the future of the show. But there have been hints that we’ll be getting a second season, just no firm confirmations. Which has me wondering whether or not I’ll know what happened to Russ/Chad (Glen Powell), Ricky (Perry Mattfeld), Danny (Frankie A. Rodriguez), and all of the Catfish team.

Powell, who is easily one of the busiest men on this planet, went from promoting Chad Powers to promoting The Running Man to hosting Saturday Night Live to being the face of the watch brand Omega. He’s got a lot on his plate, including his own condiments with Smash Kitchen. And yet I would like confirmation that he is, also, to be working on season 2 of the Hulu series.

And that is why I have questions. A few weeks ago, there was a report that the show was officially back on for season 2 from a publication out of Atlanta but there was no official word. Now, in a new interview from Esquire with Glen Powell for Omega, the publication writes that he’s heading to film the second season before he jumps into a Judd Apatow comedy he co-wrote.

But still, that’s not “official” word. So again, I ask, what is going on with Chad Powers season 2?

I’d like to know please and thank you

One of my biggest issues with how people talk about Chad Powers is that they forget that sometimes, a comedy can be silly and earn its more “honest” and real moments. Personally, I think shows like Ted Lasso and The Bear have ruined the brains of so many out there who think that they know what a comedy series is supposed to be.

Chad Powers reminded me of my favorite 00s/10s comedy shows. Imagine a show like Party Down starting today. It wouldn’t have half the cult following because no one knows how to engage with media as it is instead of what our expectations are on it. But I digress.

I do hope that this is all true and that season 2 is on the way. Maybe then people will watch the show and enjoy it for what Chad Powers was meant to be: Entertaining, funny, and a story of redemption. Or…at least Russ’ attempt at redemption. Until we know for sure though, I am going to be staring at every bit of information that comes out about a potential season 2 and analyzing it like that Charlie Day meme from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
