Woman Says She May Never Return to the OB-GYN After an Excruciatingly Embarrassing Mistake: ‘Still Thoroughly Disgusted’
Some Things You Just Can’t Un-Do

An OB-GYN appointment can become embarrassing very quickly when a patient and staff member hear two completely different things. And when the mistake involves something as personal as a bathroom sample, clearing up the confusion can be uncomfortable for everyone involved.
Patients have shared plenty of awkward Pap smear experiences, but this one started before the exam even began. One woman claims she followed exactly what she thought a staff member told her to do, only to get a very different reaction when she returned.
TikTok creator @thatssokeezy says the mix-up happened during her first visit to a new OB-GYN. In a video with 2.4 million views, she recalled being asked to provide a sample before her annual exam. What she brought back, however, was apparently not what the staff member was expecting.
She Had No Idea What Was Coming
According to the TikToker, a staff member told her they needed a “stool sample.” She found the request strange since she had never been asked for one at a doctor’s office, but with other patients waiting near the bathroom, she followed the instructions.
Inside, she searched online for how to provide one but mostly found instructions for doing it at home or a lab. She then found blue and green specimen cups in a cabinet and assumed the green cup was for stool.
She managed to provide the sample. “I did it, okay? I did it,” she recalled. After cleaning the container and washing her hands, she returned to the hallway with it.
The employee allegedly backed away and asked, “What is that?” When she answered, “The stool sample,” the staff member responded, “I did not ask for a stool sample. I said, a urine sample.”
The TikToker insisted that wasn’t what she heard. With other patients nearby, she claims the employee kicked a garbage can toward her and told her to throw the sample away.
The embarrassment apparently continued as the staff member took her to the examination room. “She’s still thoroughly disgusted,” the TikToker recalled. “She’s not making eye contact.” She said she was so embarrassed that she kept looking at the ground.
She then realized she was about to have a Pap smear as part of her annual exam. The doctor reportedly completed the procedure without mentioning what had happened in the hallway, something the woman was initially grateful for.
However, she felt the doctor’s demeanor changed afterward. On her way out, she noticed a small piece of tissue while wiping and wondered whether the doctor had seen it during the exam, though it’s unclear why the doctor allegedly acted differently.
Things can get especially uncomfortable when bathroom issues come up during a gynecological exam, and this visit was no exception. Many viewers focused on how the staff member allegedly reacted. Several self-identified healthcare workers said the patient should not have been embarrassed over the mistake.
“So I’m a nurse and if a patient had tried to give me a stool sample instead of a urine sample, I would have just said ‘oh my goodness I’m so sorry I meant URINE sample let me just take that,'” one commenter wrote, adding that they would have quietly thrown it away.
Another self-described medical assistant agreed, writing, “The way they handled that situation is so wrong and unprofessional. I would never embarrass a patient in anyway or make them feel uncomfortable.”
Some commenters believed the staff member did say “stool.” “I feel like she did say stool because how would she say urine and you get confused and hear stool?” one person wrote.
There is no independent confirmation of whether the staff member said “urine” or “stool.” After what she called the most embarrassing experience of her life, the TikToker concluded, “Needless to say, I’m never going back there.”
