Man Pulls up to Krispy Kreme and Orders 565 Donuts. Then He Hears the Total and Asks the Drive-Thru Worker One Question: ‘Please Pull Forward’

Automated drive-thru ordering is becoming more common as restaurant chains continue introducing AI to take customer orders. As the technology expands, customers have increasingly begun testing its limits with unusual requests that often end up going viral.
Many of those clips have appeared on TikTok. Creators often give automated ordering systems exaggerated requests to see how they respond.
One such video comes from TikTok creator @somecopsneedhelp. It shows a Krispy Kreme drive-thru accepting an unusually large order before the conversation takes an unexpected turn.
What happened next got people talking about AI
The video shows the creator pulling up to a Krispy Kreme drive-thru, where an automated voice greets him and asks for his order. Instead of ordering a few donuts, he asks for 565 regular donuts.
The AI responds by asking what kind of donuts he would like. After he confirms he wants regular donuts, the system accepts the order and instructs him to pull forward to the window. Before ending the conversation, the creator asks for the total. The AI replies that the order comes to $1,407.85.
He then jokes, “Can I get a discount?” The automated voice responds, “Discounts can be handled at the window,” before wishing him a good day. The exchange quickly drew reactions from viewers, many of whom focused less on the massive order and more on the AI’s delivery.
“The fact that it’s 1,407 dollars is actually nuts. That’s 2.50 each,” one commenter wrote. Others joked that the AI sounded increasingly uncomfortable as the conversation continued. “The ‘got it’ sounded so nervous,” one viewer wrote.
“Robot sounds annoyed,” another commented. Several viewers also joked that the system seemed to lose its enthusiasm by the end of the exchange. “Even AI has social anxiety,” one person wrote.
Another asked, “Should I be telling the AI to have good day?” Others referenced the AI’s reply to the discount request, with one viewer joking, “The lady at the speaker promised me a discount at the window.”
Similar tests have already gone viral online. One recent Wendy’s AI drive-thru experiment showed how the system responded after a customer asked for 10,000 water cups.
The viral exchange comes as more restaurant chains continue investing in artificial intelligence to handle drive-thru orders. Companies say the technology is designed to improve speed, reduce mistakes, and allow employees to focus on preparing food instead of taking every order. Several major fast-food brands have already begun testing or expanding AI-powered ordering systems as part of broader efforts to improve efficiency and shorten wait times.
The video sparked debate online. Some argued that the growing use of AI could eventually harm parts of the service industry by replacing human workers.
