A woman who works with men has a PSA for their wives and girlfriends, and it involves what happens to the lunches they pack for them.

TikTok creator Zensofly (@zencitaaa) posted the video from her job site.

“I’m telling on you guys,” she says to start the video. “Ladies, I work with your husbands and your boyfriends. And you pack them nice lunches that I am jealous of. Let me tell you. They come to work and they get work from the loncheras.”

Do Workers Get Food From the Loncheras?

For the uninitiated, Zensofly is referring to the Mexican-American food trucks that generally surround construction or other job sites. Loncheras historically make their money supplying hot meals to men who work long hours doing strenuous physical labor.

But something about the dynamic changed in recent years, according to Zensofly. “And I’m telling you, the loncheras?” she says. “They’re not abuelas anymore. They look like bottle girls.”

The worst part of the whole thing for Zensofly is seeing all that good food go to waste every day, when the men allegedly abandon their wives’ food to purchase hot meals from the bottle service loncheras.

“I would be so grateful to have that lunch that you take your time to make for them,” she says. “So think about that next time you’re up at 4 a.m. packing their lunch, OK?”

How Accurate Is This Woman’s Claim About Lunches?

In the comments section of the video, viewers reacted to the idea of men throwing away their significant other’s food in lieu of next-generation loncheras that look like bottle girls.

“Oh, I just looked up a lonchera and they’re tea,” said one viewer.

A second person wrote, “It’s true. I am a lonchera and she’s not lying.”

“I went to surprise my husband with the kids at lunch one day,” a third person wrote. “Tell me why I saw my man dump steak, potatoes, [onions], y tortillas con salsa verde in the trash so he could eat Burger King with his co-workers. That was the last time I ever packed that man a meal.”

And, yes, it’s very common for workers and their families to joke about whether the lunches they take with them to work actually make it into their stomach or instead get rerouted to the trash can when the food truck comes through the job site.

And What About the ‘Bottle Girl’ Loncheras?

Zensofly is also correct about the “bottle girl” lonchera trend. TikToker Claudia López Aviléz of Dallas calls herself the “sexy lonchera.” Apparently, she isn’t the only one to decide that the traditional lonchera lady needed a makeover

And that has translated into TikTok jokes from the girlfriends and wives of those loncheras’ prospective customers. One woman said, “Don’t forget to cook for that man or else the lonchera lady will.” Another woman made a viral video interrogating her husband about whether he left the job site hungry or not.
