A Texas woman is floored by her husband’s top pick among participants on Love Island. Her simple question turned into a viral conversation about attraction.

TikToker Jaden Pizana (@jadenpizana) posted a video with more than 8.4 million views.  She asked her husband which contestant from the current season of Love Island USA he finds the cutest.

His answer completely caught her off guard.

Who Did He Pick?

Instead of choosing one of the blonde contestants, her husband picked Sol.

Jaden immediately pointed out that two other women on the show looked more like her, with blonde hair and light-colored eyes. Sol, on the other hand, has dark hair and a noticeably different look. The contrast left Jaden visibly confused, especially since she assumed one of the contestants who resembled her would be his answer.

“What’s your type because there are two other girls that look like your wife?” she asks in the video.

Who Is Sol?

Sol Dean is a 24-year-old model, singer-songwriter, and creative from Orange, California. She entered Love Island USA as a bombshell and quickly became one of the season’s breakout contestants.

Her appearance has also sparked online discussion, with some viewers debating her ethnic background. Sol has described herself as multiracial and has previously shared a photo of her father, who appears to be Black.

Why Did the Video Strike a Chord?

For many viewers, the surprise wasn’t that Jaden’s husband found another woman attractive. She had asked him to choose.

Instead, people focused on the fact that he didn’t choose someone who resembled his wife, even though there were contestants who shared her features.

The comments quickly split into a few different camps.

Some viewers joked that Sol’s appeal transcends having a “type.”

“Just looked up Sol Villa, damn I don’t blame your husband ,” wrote @Apex, while @jadachic3 added, “Sol is everyone’s type… it’s okay.”

Others related to Jaden’s confusion. “MY BOYFRIEND SAID HE’S NOT INTO THE BLONDES??? bro I’m blonde…,” commented @natalie, suggesting the video made them question assumptions about their own partners’ preferences.

Meanwhile, plenty of viewers came away with a different takeaway altogether. “Let’s just not ask these questions,” joked @B, echoing a sentiment shared by many others who felt some answers are better left unknown.

The discussion ultimately became less about Love Island and more about whether people really have a physical “type”. Many wondered how much that matters in a relationship.

Do People Really Have Just One Type?

Psychology suggests the answer isn’t so simple.

A 2023 study published in Frontiers in Psychology found that romantic attraction is influenced by much more than appearance. Researchers found that people’s relationship preferences are also shaped by factors like love, shared values, family goals, and emotional connection.

In other words, the contestant someone finds most attractive on a reality show may not reflect the qualities they value in a real-life partner.

That may explain why Jaden’s question resonated with so many people. It wasn’t really about Love Island. It was about whether a partner’s celebrity crush says anything about the person they chose to build a life with.
