Influencer Makes a Move on an NYC Woman, but She Refuses. Then, He Films Video About Her Dislike of Kissing in Her House: ‘He Planned Everything’
Stranger Danger

In life, you often come across someone who seems dangerous right from the start, but then something happens, and your opinion begins to change. However, over time, you realize that their kindness was just a facade and that you were right to judge them based on your initial impression or how you first perceived them. Personally, I’ve faced this situation multiple times, and I hate to admit that despite some experience, I haven’t learned from my mistakes and continue to experience it.
TikTok user @riss.net uploaded a video on January 14, 2026, in which she talked about texting and calling a man over a long period but not feeling a spark. Then, when she and the man were in New York City, she decided to meet him, and they had a really good time, which made her change her mind. But, as she says in her video, when he visited her hometown for a weekend and stayed at her apartment for a while, she realized how wrong she was about their compatibility. She also found out that the man was toxic and weird.
TikTok user @riss.net’s uninvited guest was not the best
As mentioned earlier, @riss.net uploaded a video to her TikTok account on January 14, 2026, in which she talked about a man she had been seeing for a while before things went wrong. To give some background on how the situation escalated, Riss explained that she and this TikTok influencer had been texting each other on TikTok and Instagram and FaceTiming for several months. However, there was no real chemistry between them.
Then, one time, they happened to be in New York and decided to meet up. Surprisingly, they ended up having a good time. They agreed to meet again, and both mutually decided that Riss would visit the man for the first weekend, then the man would visit her the next weekend, followed by her joining him and his friends for a festival the weekend after. However, after Riss returned to her hometown and started preparing for her trip to his, he suggested he would rather visit her first and insisted on staying at her place. Although hesitant at first, Riss eventually gave in, and he came to stay at her house.
While staying with Riss, she and this man went out to hang out with some of Riss’s friends. During dinner, when he tried to pay, his card was declined, so he had to use another card. Later, after Riss, her friends, and the man returned to her house to drink some more, he asked if he could sleep naked. Despite Riss refusing, he still got naked and crawled under the sheets while Riss was lying beside him, with one of her friends on the other side of her, making the situation even more uncomfortable and weird.
Then, early the next morning, while they were eating, he suddenly asked if he could kiss her. She declined, saying she doesn’t like kissing or making out. The day before he was supposed to leave (he extended his stay by a day, by the way), Riss saw a TikTok video in which he talked about being with a woman who didn’t like to kiss. Based on the details he shared, Riss realized he was talking about her. She confronted him, but he claimed he got the story from CHAT GPT, which Riss says in her video is completely false, as some of the language he used exactly matches what Riss told him when she refused to kiss him. Ultimately, he left, and since Riss doesn’t mention seeing him again, it seems he did not bother her after that.
People have a lot of opinions about @riss.net’s TikTok video
For a topic as intriguing and weird as the one highlighted by @riss.net in her TikTok video, there’s bound to be a lot of discussion, and there definitely is. Many people advised Riss against putting herself in a situation like this again in the future. User @historyinsixtie said, “I say this with love. Please stop letting people you don’t know stay in your home. Please.” User @jennyannegan wrote, “To anyone reading this, advice from an older woman (me): Please never adjust your boundaries so that a man doesn’t feel uncomfortable.”
Should men exclusively pay for dates? What do the people say?
A Forbes article from February 12, 2020, highlights a survey by Money and SurveyMonkey on love and finances. The survey found that 78% of respondents believe men should pay on the first date, with men (85%) more likely than women (72%) to hold this view. Even after the first date, men often cover most of the expenses and sometimes feel guilty about asking for or accepting money from women.
Having said that, the Forbes article also notes that it is somewhat unfair that straight men are expected to pay when they are going on dates with women, but states that the situation is much worse for women. Social scientists have dubbed chivalrous behavior, such as treating women to food by men, as benevolent sexism. Benevolent sexism is the idea that women should be loved and cared for, combined with the paternalistic belief that they require men’s protection. It supports stereotypes that women are both wonderful and delicate, and that they depend on men’s help.
