‘Absolutely, utterly unacceptable’: Nashville woman orders $100 bouquet from 1-800-Flowers for mom’s birthday. Then she sees what was delivered

A Nashville woman orders a pink and orange bouquet from 1-800-Flowers and can’t wait to surprise her mom for her birthday. However, she calls out the flower company after comparing what her mom received to the photo on the website.
In a video with close to 2,000 views, TikToker and singer Julia Larkin (@julialarkinmusic) shows a picture of the bouquet she ordered for her mom. The photo shows a full bouquet with around 10 different types of purple, pink, and orange flowers.
Then, she shows the photo of the bouquet her mom actually received.
“This is what $100 after delivery fees and taxes got me,” she remarks. The bouquet includes limp flowers and is missing several of the types of flowers promised in the picture online.
Larkin calls the experience “absolutely unacceptable.” She says she texted customer service, who offered a free redelivery.
“So, if they’re not up to par I will be disputing the charges,” she continues. “It looks like they took old flowers from the grocery store that are about to be tossed that day.”
Larkin says she will “never” use 1-800-Flowers again. The caption reads, “bro this is so unacceptable !!!!! I was so genuinely excited to gift my mom flowers. I live in another state and can’t be with her often. Really upset, as you can tell!”

What do other customers think of 1-800-Flowers’ quality?
1-800-Flowers is a flower delivery company that works with local florists who will assemble their pre-designed bouquets. Because the company doesn’t have its own floral shops, many customers report inconsistency with what they receive. It all depends on which local contractor handles the order.
One customer on the r/florists subreddit shares a picture of the bouquet they expected. Then, they show a second picture of what they received: a sparse bouquet with completely different flowers.
Commenters on the forum say they’ve had similar experiences with the delivery service.
“I just ordered a large set to my wife, for our 10th wedding anniversary and reached out to them to confirm delivery and guess what it’s a NO SHOW,” one writes.
Another shares, “Worst flowers ever. They were dead when I pulled them out of the box. The flowers were actually hot like they had been in an oven. Worst ever! Save your money.”
Is there a better way to get a fresh bouquet delivered?
In the comments of Larkin’s TikTok, viewers recommend working directly with the local florists instead of using a middleman like 1-800-Flowers. By speaking with the florist, they’re able to provide more accurate flower availability and pricing.
“Only used them once. Same experience as you, because they act as a middle man they take a huge cut so the florists original bouquet gets severely downsized. So they show you what the florist does for $100 but don’t tell you the florists gets $40 to work with,” one points out.
Another florist shares, “This is why you should call a LOCAL FLORIST. As a florist, 1800 takes so much of the cost that they actually give the florist, this is the BEST a florist can do with what they are given from 1800.”
“Unfortunately you need to find a good florist near her and order direct,” a third suggests.
