Walmart worker falsely accuses Houston woman of stealing. So she finds a clever way to get revenge: ‘THIS is the power move’

Grocery shopping is normally a mundane hassle in people’s routine. Except rude employees who create even more of a headache.  And this is especially prevalent at Walmart, where it’s notorious for their less-than-pleasant staff.

Behaviors, such as being berated for using the store incorrect app, interrogated for buying gift cards, and making a scene out of menstrual panties have allegedly happened to customers. Now, one woman recalled how she responded to the first and only theft accusation– pulling an Uno reverse.

“There’s only ever been one time where someone’s accused me of stealing after I paid for something,” Texas-based TikToker Taylar (@buffetgirlss) says while sitting in her car. “I paid for a whole cart of [stuff].” From here, she jumps into her story of the incident at a local Walmart.

Walmart Face Off

When she approached the exit, a female employee demanded to see her receipt.

“‘Um we’re gonna need to see your receipt,’” she recounts the woman saying. After the worker checked the receipt, the content creator decided to turn the tables. “‘So now, I want you to return all of this,’” she says she told the woman.

However, the employee was rambling and stumbling in shock: “’No! It was just a misunderstanding. There was another lady in front of you.’”

Before the employee could finish stammering out the rest of the sentence, Taylar cut her off, reiterating, “I’m gonna want you to personally return all of this [expletive]. I wanna watch you.’”

The allegations stirred her anger to a boiling point. “She was [expletive] but you know who’s more mad? Me! ‘Cause I spent $150 in this [place] and you accuse me of stealing?! Give me my money, now!'”

She raises her voice, venting her emotions in the moment. But Taylar wasn’t relenting, taking it a step further. “‘I’m gonna need to speak to your manager,’” she recalled, pressing.

Once the manager arrived, she decided to continue to stir the pot. Through shedding crocodile tears, she attempted to tug at the manager’s heartstrings. “‘She just accused me of stealing after I spent all of this money,’” the content creator recalls, shifting her voice to a higher octave.

As a result, it paid off in more ways than one. “Manager gives me a gift card. Lady looking stupid as [expletive] cause the manager was ‘like, ‘Why would you do this? Did you have any evidence?’ and the lady was stuttering,” Taylar recollects.

Viewers Virtually Cheered

Taylar’s clip amassed 2.1 million views and rounds of applause in approval.

“They wanted to be funny so you decided to be hilarious. We approve matching energies here!” one viewer commended.

“That is the only appropriate response. You already worked hard for the money, you shouldn’t have to work hard to spend it,” another applauded.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about and crying brava,” a third praised.

Moreover, others shared how their similar acts of vengeance took on a new level of pettiness.

“I did this at true religion in the galleria, saying I didn’t pay for something. I said, ‘you know what give me a refund.’ Manager was mad it was $3,200 in jeans and stuff for my family for Christmas. I said I’ll order [this online] byeeee,” one commenter shared.

“Same thing happened to me. I made them scan it all back for a return. After they were done I changed my mind and had them rescan it. I asked them if they wanted to check my receipt again,” a second revealed.

Must You Show Your Receipt At Walmart?

If you’ve shopped at Walmart, chances are you’ve been asked by a designated worker at the door to hand over your receipt. Voluntarily showing the proof of purchase is a habit some don’t even pay mind to. However, customers legally don’t have to if they don’t want to. While Walmart intends to check every receipt as a measure to curb theft, retailers can only do this if there is proof of legitimate concern, per ABC10. The only exception is wholesalers like Costco, where members agree to this in the terms.
