Nobody expects anything out of the ordinary on their Starbucks coffee run. Typically, engaging in polite small talk with the barista might occur until they’re handed their beverage of choice and drive off.

Unpleasant encounters with baristas do happen, such as being reprimanded for picking up a mobile order in the drive-thru or forced to make a purchase as soon as sitting down in the café area. Once in a blue moon, a creepy conversation that TikTok creator Belle (@girlifeineu) experienced can lead to swearing off visiting that location ever again.

What Happened In The Starbucks Drive-Thru?

The entire clip showcases the interaction between her and the Starbucks barista at night. While parked at the speaker, she requests a Trenta Caramel Ribbon Crunch.

“I’m not really sure if I can do that but I can do a size Venti for you,” the barista says. Immediately, the interaction takes an unexpected twist. “I think you’re so pretty. Sorry to make this weird, but you’re, like, really pretty,” they said, the lisp in their voice more noticeable. “I’m getting really nervous.”

To no one in particular, they repeatedly gush frantically, “My god. There’s a pretty girl. Guys, there’s a really pretty girl.”

But Wait, It Gets Stranger

This time, it’s the content creator’s turn to shift gears.

“So, I cannot get a Trenta?” she asks. “No, I’m sorry. I-I-I can do a Venti for you if you like but I can’t do a trenta,” the barista sputters out before adding. “I would do anything for you, though, if I could. So, you want to do this Venti?”

But Belle has had enough. “Just forgot it honestly. I’ll just go to another Starbucks,” she replies. But the barista isn’t letting her leave that easily. “Don’t go. Hold on a second,” they cut her off. “I just got to know you. What’s your name?”

“Um, I don’t really feel comfortable,” the content creator responds nervously. “What is your name?” they demand.

All of a sudden, she chuckles before revealing her name.

“My name is Owen. It’s nice to meet you and I’d love to take you on a lovely date,” the barista replies, the lisp gets stronger with each word and tone more elaborate. “I’ll marry you. I’ll be the best husband ever,” they continue. “I’ll kiss you right. You’re just so pretty. I’m sweating.”

Now, Belle is successfully creeped out. “I’m just gonna go to another Starbucks,” she says, driving off.

“Firtt’t and last time coming to this location, bro,” she summarizes in the text overlay.

What Did Viewers Think?

Belle’s video amassed 5.3 million views, sparking debate on the authenticity of the interaction. Those who took it at face value were scared.

“I’d have to drive away lol,” one viewer commented.

“I’m genuinely screaming. What the [expletive] is happening,” another stated.

“This would’ve actually scared tf outta me,” a third said.

On the other hand, most believed it was a joke regardless if Belle was in on it.

“I just know they’re besties trolling,” one commenter remarked.

“Nah bruh they HAVE to be playing,” a second echoed.

“Bro they had to have lost a bet,” a third suggested.

It’s entirely possible this was a harmless prank or a skit. Any uncomfortable experiences should be reported to the store and corporate. Nevertheless, The Mary Sue reached out to Belle via Instagram direct message and TikTok comment.
