Jimmy Kimmel is back, just in time for the rapture

Just when we think Jimmy Kimmel is out, he comes back just in time for us to maybe get raptured. Kimmel was taken off the air because of tame comments that referenced the death of Charlie Kirk. ABC and Disney let the Sinclair Broadcast Group dictate what they do.

With the news of Kimmel’s hiatus, many pushed back at the parent company of Jimmy Kimmel Live! by canceling their Hulu and Disney+ accounts in solidarity. Celebrities who have worked with Disney and Hulu have spoken out and many criticized the company for its attack on Free Speech by putting the show on hiatus because of, seemingly, government pressure.

Now, Kimmel is coming back with a catch: It won’t necessarily be easy to watch it. Sinclair isn’t exactly over Kimmel’s words despite ABC putting him back on the air. And what timing for Kimmel to return, right before the rapture.

For those unaware, apparently Christian TikTok thinks that the rapture is happening today, September 23rd. Why? Your guess is as good as mine but that’s a whole thing. And so it is really funny to think about Kimmel going back to work right as the rapture happens and the “good” souls leave. Or whatever the rapture really means.

If you’re wondering to yourself “Why is this all happening at the same time?” Same. I also want to know why the world is all combusting simultaneously. The rapture, Kimmel, and nonsense about Tylenol all at the same time? What next? Actually, nevermind. I don’t want a “what’s next.” That’s plenty to unpack.

It is truly horrible to see what our current administration is willing to do that is against the rights we have as Americans. But alas, this is the Bad Place. But what was done to Kimmel is, in a lot of ways, unforgivable. His show and all of the people who make it possible were punished because Kimmel made a commentary about people who were trying to literally change a narrative that we still didn’t fully understand.

It all went way too far, on ABC and Sinclair’s side, and I am happy that Kimmel is coming back on air. And I really cannot wait to see what he says about this situation.
