The final trailer for ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is all about our favorite family

Marvel’s first family is finally on their way and it is a beautiful sight to see. The final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps reminds us that they work because the team is, first and foremost, a family.

Galactus (Ralph Ineson) is coming and the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner) is here to announce earth’s latest villain. But Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and his family are ready for whatever they throw at him. A lot of this new trailer was Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) teasing Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) about his catchphrase from the cartoon and it is hilariously sweet. No, sorry, you don’t hear Ben say “It’s clobbering time” in this one.

The official synopsis for the movie states that it is introducing “Marvel’s First Family,” including a pregnant Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) and glimpses of baby Franklin. First Steps shows the team “as they face their most daunting challenge yet.”

As the press release for the film states, the team is “forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond” and they are trying to defend Earth. “And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

I love how this trailer balances both Ben’s acceptance of his place as a hero (even if he won’t humor Johnny) but also how this team really works well together. The Avengers fight and cause “civil wars” to break out because they aren’t a family to begin with. They’re heroes forced together who need to learn how to handle their lives.

I don’t know what else First Steps has in store for us and frankly, I’m fine with that. It is nice going into a Marvel movie without knowing anything and it has been way too long since that was even possible. So when I finally get to hang out with my wonderful family in July, I hope that I finally get to hear those three beautiful words: “It’s clobbering time.”
