Do you remember how last year’s White House holiday decorations were…..super duper creepy? It was like an Upside Down version of the comforting, wintery embrace that you’d usually expect for the season—completely absent of warmth, as if Daedalus himself had risen and created a new labyrinth to hold a cursed bestial creature that is only human enough to warrant abject terror: Frosty the Snowman (Mike Pence).

Anyway, that was the tonal inspiration for this Full Frontal promo about their holiday special “Christmas on I.C.E.” The special will raise money to reuniting families, what host Sam Bee calls “a festive reminder that we fucked over thousands of immigrants and still haven’t fixed it yet.”
The clip includes holiday decorations reading “Detention of Migrant Children at Highest Levels Ever”, sad gingerbread families, the interruption of the birth of Christ by I.C.E. agents, and ice skating. Family separation is a horrendous awful thing and although it’s faded somewhat from headlines, it is a very urgent issue we should absolutely never stop talking about.
The description reads:
“Catholic middle school graduate Samantha Bee and TBS are pleased to announce Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’s holiday special “Christmas on I.C.E.”! Christmas is a time for all families to be together. And so is every other day.
Join Samantha Bee for a less-godless-than-the-usual-liberal Christmas variety spectacular with all the traditional trimmings: music, laughter, joy, deep rage that the administration is separating migrant families, and gingerbread.
